  1. If he fills Hunter's spot, that's a fail. Hunter was disinterested this year. I think he has more upside than ANB, who was inconsistent from year to year.
  2. Just watched the highlights package of Hamish Davis in the WAFL final, where he had 21 Disposals and kicked 4 goals. He's certainly not a polished footballer. There's nothing classy about him, and his kicking style reminds me of Warren Dean. But he obviously knows how to find the footy. Hard to compare him to any current AFL player.
  3. After 3 years of recruiting ageing rejects from other clubs, we finally get a young player with upside. Sharp will hopefully be getting a game ahead of the likes of Billings and Spargo. Welcome Harry!!!!
  4. Gut feel is that GWS will relent once Stringer deal goes through. Derksen's trade value should be no more than a late pick swap. A pick in the 60's should suffice. Not sure who his agent is, but if he's desperate to leave for family reasons, the agent would be putting pressure on GWS with threats of future dealings with the club.
  5. Tiges wouldn't do that. They want as many 1st round picks as possible.
  6. Disagree. There's no guarantee that pick 3 ends up being better than 12, and Baker and Owies are good acquisitions.
  7. That's worse than the Pies offer. Plus Houston doesn't want to come to us, so move on.
  8. It would be wise not to appoint any new assistant coaches until the Football Dept review is completed. Personally I'd prefer it if we didn't appoint former players who Goodwin has coached. We need some new ideas when it comes to gameplan and matchday tactics.
  9. Yeah I just saw the deal in totality. GC haven't done too bad. Getting rid of Ratkins is a win. Lukosius could be another Jack Watts for Port, or he could fulfill his talent.
  10. Pretty sure they left out the 2nd most important piece in Lukosius going to Port. Atkins is a salary dump. Richards is more than steak knives, and offers Port midfield depth. I think Port have done well. But surely some later picks must be going to the Suns so they get points for Lombard. Edit: Tom Morris was way off the mark. The Suns get 2 future 1st as part of the deal. Makes more sense now.
  11. Why is that? Sharp said he was committed to joining us, and the Lions didn't seem to have any objection.
  12. I'd suggest that they will let Kennedy and Owies go. Their combined salary wouldn't be much different to Houston + a late draftee. And Houston isn't leaving Port for more money.
  13. Instead we top up our list with rejects from other clubs who end up being ordinary players for us. There's always talent after the 1st round. We've just chosen to ignore it.
  14. You had me nervous there for a second.
  15. Can't get excited or disappointed with this trade. Was hoping we'd go deep into the draft this year. Pick 9 for our F1 and 28 seemed about right. Bundling up the later picks and sending them to Brisbane for pick 32/34 and Sharp, would have given us a nice draft hand.
  16. Is this you @Ethan Tremblay?
  17. Of course AFL coaches would be concerning themselves with what was written on a fan forum.
  18. Better than Casey Fields? Surely not!!!!
  19. Is it only unreadable because the rumours are seen as negative towards the MFC? Are you ok with people posting that we are still actively trying to recruit Wade Derksen, even though Jason McCartney has publicly shut down any move? Whilst the powers that be at the MFC have shut down Oliver being traded, I've no doubt that Oliver's management are still in discussion with the Cats to get a reasonable trade proposal on the table. And I'm sure that's where PF's rumour is coming from. If it doesn't eventuate, it doesn't mean that his rumour was incorrect.
  20. Is there any difference between an NGA and a Cat B? Moniz-Wakefield was an NGA, whilst Ralph is saying that Mentha will be a Cat B.
  21. Dusty Martin achieved great results by doing his off-season training with Dane Swan in the US. 😁
  22. It's no different to when the AFL website poses the question as to whether a player might be in trouble with the Match Review Panel. If it was illegal for a member from AFL Media to pass commentary on an incident before the MRO has made a decision, then surely a club would take it to court and argue that an AFL employee has prejudiced the case.
  23. And if the draft is as deep as advertised, pick 16 may be only marginally better than pick 31 (currently 28). We could potentially be giving up a top 5 pick next year for little gain.
  24. I reckon I can find plenty in this thread alone.
  25. You are seriously not trying to compare the fitness levels of an AFL football with a Premier League goalkeeper?
