I was a bit surprised when Lloyd on Footy Classified said that the Dees wouldn't be disadvantaged because Melksham is just a depth player. I don't think that is how we see it- you don't give depth players 4 year contracts. Smacks of sour grapes to me. Lloyd hasn't disconnected enough from Essendrug to provide credible commentary

I think it it is best to hold fire until the end of the draft. It seems to me a trade can't be judged in isolation so let's look at the total package before getting too carried away. I am sure there is good reason for what's being done and that there are many subplots and twists being played out. Happy to just sit back and watch what unfolds.

I think having Salem and Melksham coming off the half backline could provide a lot of drive - that has been a weakness of ours for some time. You are not paying overs if a gap is filled and team balance is improved.

If he is being targeted for half back that confirms Grimes is on the outer, as well as the Prince maybe.
