  1. you must be Blind... brad green was One of the softest players we've had at Melbounren & to make him a leader was Totally Wrong..

he only put his head down over the ball for one & a bit seasons, & even then he couldn't do it well, putting his head in the way, he was so awkward at it.

... as soon as he had the captaincy, this head over the ball leadership vanished... he was hopeless & thats why the bombers sought him out in the 2000 grand final... they new, or Sheedy New he was soft & easily put off his game with intimidation.

...all these well spoken postors who have less than 400 posts to their avatars, well at least their alter ego avatars... whats your day avatar SS12? one of Fans merry men. one of the factions who would want to bring back danners, with jeff.

Neeld was doing a dirty job cutting the rotten eggs out, that started under danihers reign, & that of the board at the time which included that advertising junkee?

That Is where this all started, & many of those players who got their cheap kicks with No Bruises where the forerunners to the Mortons & Bennells... those kids just took the lead of their senior role models. ... and this is why we could never develop any of our Kids.

Oh I did not say he shouldn't have been sacked... the results, indeed the size of the results determined that... I have no problem with the list pruning that neeld was undertaking, but we had to bring in some mature top line players who were near the end.. Players of class like a Chapman, not a Rodan. Dawes is fine as is I think will be Pederson, but gillies not sure.

we had to pull out the old players who were the bearers of the old culture... this is the way to stop the handdown of the viral rot. including the hard at it but not so smart beamer. interesting that the Cats chose him as a trade, re for the Ottens/Thompson trade.

... and a game plan unsuited??? so you want to run ahead of the ball still after all these years since daniher. stuie, the game is a contested game. if it doesn't suit us, we better start a soccer club.

WOW and who said drugs is not a problem at the MFC (off field)!

  2. Nice attempt Stuie. I like the present emblem for Flags. Something like yours on the players' jumpers and all the other club paraphernalia. I have to say i prefer this Demon version though..... quite similar. The only thing i might change here is the established bit down the bottom. I'd prefer to see something like The Mighty Demons, Home of The Mighty Demons or some reference to Demon in there. If you can imagine this in the old bold true red and a slightly lighter navy blue in order to avoid any Bumbers lookalike colours....

    A few suggestions

Change the Demons face to Jeff Kennett

Have all the other Clubs bowing down to the Demon in the background

Also in the Background have the streets of Collingwood on Fire.

  3. I couldn't care less to be honest. As long as my football club regains some competitiveness onfield and ignites hope for the supporter base. I'm sick of going every week and knowing we'll lose by between 10-15 goals.

Lets see what happens this week

  4. As far as I can tell MN best recruits to the MFC either are not allowed to play at this time or spend more time injured then they do actually playing.

Mind you give me millions of dollars to waste and even I would come up with a few winners.

History will show that MN was one of the worst VFL/AFL senior coaches ever. He is so lucky the AFL had allowed the two new expansion teams at the time he become a senior coach as this has made his win/lose statistics much better then it otherwise would have been.

He had taken the MFC from eight win in a season to where it will be lucky to win two.

People can sugar coat MN time as much as they like but in my opinion he was a dangerous virus that the MFC needed to get rid of and the more I am hearing of his coaching style the firm this belief becomes.

But what really upsets me is the fact he gets paid $600K by the MFC when in fact he should be paid the Club this money for what he has don or not done..

  5. You speak for the majority of supporters now? I don't think so, for the simple reason that I speak for the majority of the supporters and say that we had not lost faith and felt that the short-term pain would be worth it in the long run. As the voice of the majority I feel obligated to tell you that while we had not lost faith in the coach we have now most certainly lost faith in the administration of the club.

    ROFL

I assume your majority don't actually watch AFL Football because they too had been staying away from games.

I agree the MFC admin really sucked until now. I have a man crash on PJ.

  6. The real questions I want answered are about the board and it’s all been glossed over quite neatly by the hacks who just wanted their nice easy headline. What I want to know is:

    · This is meant to be an interim president, leading a board that is currently (according to their own statements) going through a comprehensive review of their current, past and future operations. How can they be making a call like this at this time??

    · This decision was made on Friday at an emergency board meeting where Don McLardy stood down. So McLardy stands down as president and the rest of the board go “awesome, great time to sack the coach!!”

    · The board made the decision on Friday and then let Mark Neeld go away, for what he thought was his one weekend off for the year before telling him Monday morning he’s out the door. This is a dog act, I don’t care if you liked the coach or not

    · Instead of our esteemed leader Spargo having the guts to actually tell Neeld he’s fired he sent in Jackson to do the dirty work for him. Great leadership from the top right there

    · Why are we sacking him now?? Why not two weeks ago or in two weeks time?? Why now on the back of the bye??

They made the decision because they had no other option. With such disastrous on field results no one could support MN any longer. The majority of Supporter had lost faith with him as Senior Coach and the Club in general. It appears to me PJ recommended that he be removed even though he could not tell if he could coach as the performance of the tea has become toxic to the entire Club.

The President and Senior Coach are the face of the Club and both have been seen to have failed. I am sure that the support offered from the AFL is contingent on these two position being replaced. Although it was not said directly by the AFL. It would be interesting what was in PJ report and recommendations.

What you would have told MN on Friday night he no longer had a job? It was the best decision to wait until Monday so MN and his family could enjoy the week end. Mark must have know his end was close especially since all his supporter were vacating their positions one way or another. To be truthful there never a good time to tell someone they are no longer required.

If the MFC operates as other businesses do, then MN would actual work for the CEO. If that is the case then it would be PJ role to fire MN and the board would have given PJ the funds to pay him out and replace the Senior Coach position. Standard business practice really.

The MFC would not have had the funding two weeks ago to get rid of MN. There a reason that this has happen right after a meeting with the AFL.

  7. Neeld's sacking? Yes.

    Judging by the poster, no.

Peter Jackson is a ruthless administrator and showed that yesterday.

I am starting to have a man crush on Peter Jackson.

Finally someone is in charge who knows what the hell they are doing.

Keep up the Excellent work Peter.

  8. Rodney Eade has just admitted tonight on AFL Footy channel's 360 that if Melbourne approached him he would be "interested in talking to them"... We should get serious and get the ball rolling NOW,,, If we don't we are not doing our job (again)

Sorry but he does not have the right qualifications to become a MFC Senior Coach.

Too much experience, its much better to find someone and mould them to the way the MFC does business, just ask CW. DM or GL.

  9. spot on choko

I feel sick, that we have destroyed the Coaching career of a very good person, who was bright eyed & bushy tailed about the Job ahead, & the Took On the biggest challenge in footy...

the problem largely was timing... If he came in to rebuild this Club from the bootlaces up in 2007, he would have been given 3 Yrs, But after we've already endured 4 Yrs of Sacrificial Pain, the people just didn't have any more patience left, & with the angst of the list prune, it was just too much.

we got rid of most of this crapp Culture under Barassi & Ray Jordan,,, 85% to 95% of it was fixed... it lasted us 10 great years, thru the Northey era, & early Balme...

... we Need the AFL now,,, to take charge of this, and guarantee a Topline Coach his tenure, to get to the Nitty Griity of this rubbish Culture...

    .

    Worst VFL/AFL Senior Coach ever!!!!!!
