  1. I fail to see how pick 14 is adequate compensation for Travis. An untried 18 y.o. for a player with sublime skill and the only bloke that can consistently hit a target in the fwd 50.
  2. I'd be in. Midfielder/defender. In and under type. Have played Saintsational before.
  3. Robbo is already gone. I'd like to say very reliable source, but that makes people less likely to believe. Let's just say 'I' think I have it on very reliable info that robbo has been seen holidaying with some prominent Bulldogs players. And I also have reason to believe Judd has a preference for Collingwood. I hope I've been misled.
  4. There is one huge reason we are in such a poor financial state this year... on-field performance. And this could set us back more than just the short-term. This year is a DISASTER and will have a ripple effect that will most likely ruin our next decade and potentially render the MFC extinct. Poor membership next year due to supporters losing faith... Less funds to spend on football department... Poorer performances... Worse reputation in league... Failure to attract big name players... Worse on-field performances... Even lower memberships... Could not have come at a worse time.
  5. When the Collingwood crowd started booing Neitz every time he had a shot, I was appalled. At risk of starting a fight, I started yelling "I'm going to Buckley's next game just to boo him", and "I hope Buckley pulls his hammy tomorrow at Willy". Of course I actually hope that Nathan Buckley can make a successful comeback to at least play one more game in front of his fans. But they don't deserve to be able to cheer such a great champion of the game.
  6. Don't forget the 5,000 ghosts who sit in the medallion club. They might not be visible, but each of them counts on Collo's record sheets. They might boost the figure over 22k.
  7. Percentage makes no difference when it's 1/2 a game. Unnless we happen to draw a game.
  8. Terrible snipe at Robbo on the day of his 200th. A great servant of the club and has been one of our best even when we were shite. Deserves to bask oin the warm glow of the satisfaction of plating 200, even if his team-mates couldn't honour him with a win.
  9. Tank!!!!
  10. I may be wrong here, but Sandy were on ABC tv for round one and i haven't seen them since. Have we been televised this year apart from the aforementioned game? It just seems that the bombers and port and williamstown are always on and I never get to see our boys. I'm pretty sure I've checked most weeks. Anyone know?
  11. Good on you mate. I think you really caught the drift of my post.
  12. Yeah I've got some more ignorant fool ideas. Let's trade McLean. Hasn't done a thing since round 1. And Rivers too. Not putting in. And Dunn. What an ordinary game. Can't stand the heat when the pressure is on. And Sylvia. how could he drop that mark in the 1st. Disgraceful. I think you can get my drift.
  13. And I'm referring to your previous posts, not the one I quoted.
  14. Good on you YM. Well thought out quality comments as usual. Let's get rid of all our best players.
  15. Did anyone see Ferguson last week? Couldn't pick up the ball to save his life. At least 2 or 3 times the ball went straight through him for opposition goals. He had a god-awful nightmare of a game and has been rewarded for it. Ridiculous. And if anyone thinks CJ was amang our worst last week they have to be kidding themselves. NO_ONE was good. WHY WAS HE SINGLED OUT?
  16. If anyone watched Sandy last week, they would be equally amazed as i am that petterd was even considered for selection. Did SFA on the day. Garland, on the other hand, was reasonably impressive early. And Newton had a shocker. Looks like he wants to do the impossible every time he gets the ball, rather than play smart, sensible footy. Buckly was ok, but far from AFL standard. The youth ranks are nowhere near playing AFL footy at this point, and I'm not too excited about the future of any of those boys. Maybe Buckly if he can produce similar form to that shown against the Hawks in the 1st half of the NAB cup game. I'm not surprised Daniher won't play the youngsters.
  17. So was he on the panel or a 2 min grab with the other two youngsters?
  18. So then when we don't win games or a premiership because we can't afford to spend money improving the performance of our players, I'm sure you'll continue to be glowing in your support of our team, coach, management and football department... I applaud your charitable sentiments, and I think it's fantastic that you buy two memberships. I just don't think it's irrational or counter-productive to try to push others into supporting our club. Especially when the same people will go home from their comfy MCC seats crying when we lose and blaming the coach or players or whoever they can.
  19. 25,ooo is ok for us, but not nearly good enough. Still has us way down in the membership ladder. And one feels that a loss like last Friday night's will cost us a thousand or more members. If only 3,000 out of about 20,000 MCC have put their hands in their pocket for the MFC, that is a disgrace. Remember, it's only $40 now, and these people pay a truck-load for membership each year. I don't think they're the same struggling footy fans who get upset about the high price of a pie at the G. C'mon MCC members. Do your bit!!!
  20. I strongly believe Wheatley still has alot to offer this year and is in our best 22. After hearing glowing reports of his game for Sandy last weekend, I can't believe more people aren't seriously putting his name up for selection this week. Forgotten man?
  21. ??? If political incorrectness is funny... I guess. I loved YM's optimism too, and agree that these two have a good chance of holding Franklin and Williams if the midfield gives them some help. But maybe a different choice of words re Williams would have been nice. We wouldn't want to be seen as bigots on this site. I'm sure you meant nothing by it YM...?...
  22. Good research mate. It seems we may both be right in a way (though you probably more than me). I have never heard a doctor or radiologist or radiology department in a hospital I have worked in use the term'CAT'. But it seems in the past it has been used. Now it is definitely just 'CT' (see below - CT no longer limited to just axial images), but 'CAT' may have worked its way into vocabulary in the early days of using the method. Regardless, CAT is apparently valid, and I stand corrected. But you will still never hear a doctor say 'CAT' scan. And anyway, as long as it clears Brock of any bone damage, I couldn't give a rats what it's called. I think I was a bit touchy because of our loss and the double blow of losing Brock. "Computed tomography From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Computed tomography (CT), originally known as computed axial tomography (CAT or CT scan) and body section roentgenography, is a medical imaging method employing tomography where digital geometry processing is used to generate a three-dimensional image of the internals of an object from a large series of two-dimensional X-ray images taken around a single axis of rotation. The word "tomography" is derived from the Greek tomos (slice) and graphein (to write). CT produces a volume of data which can be manipulated, through a process known as windowing, in order to demonstrate various structures based on their ability to block the X-ray beam. Although historically (see below) the images generated were in the axial or transverse plane (orthogonal to the long axis of the body), modern scanners allow this volume of data to be reformatted in various planes or even as volumetric (3D) representations of structures."
  23. Amen! My favourite player and have had his number on my back for the past 2 years. Whatever the problem, a speedy recovery is certainly what we all want.
