To Hell and Back
I’ve got to agree. Seems premature. This would be a great video if we had just won the premiership.

Back 6 Stability
Things are heating up for all AFL teams so it's time to shine the spotlight on your club's biggest priority this pre-season. The main issues and how to solve them right here ? EVERY CLUB January focus: Your club's biggest pre-season priority MELBOURNE Finding stability in the back six The biggest focus for Melbourne will be stabilising the backline and building on-field chemistry with Jake Lever (pictured below) and Steven May. Both players managed just eight games in 2019, but they only took to the field at the same time on four occasions. May has suffered a minor setback after getting a cyst on his leg removed, while Lever has had a (touch wood) full pre-season so far. Melbourne's depth in the key defender posts has been weakened following Sam Frost's departure, so an injury to Lever or May would leave the Demons vulnerable. - Jourdan Canil

Starting Midfield Unit & Depth
What does your club's starting midfield unit look like going into 2020? Who has the strongest midfield in the AFL? We've broken down every side's starting 4 and depth. YOUR CLUB'S STARTING MIDFIELD UNIT AND DEPTH Max Gawn Clayton Oliver Jack Viney James Harmes Next in: Nathan Jones, Angus Brayshaw, Adam Tomlinson, Ed Langdon, Christian Petracca The league’s best 'hit-out to advantage' player in Gawn gets Oliver, Harmes and Viney to aim at and subsequently they'll be constantly licking their lips. That quartet will begin most games as Melbourne’s on-ball starters. Nathan Jones is no stranger to spending plenty of time in midfield, despite moving to a more peripheral position in his twilight years, while Brayshaw will roll through and Petracca will often be used for some grunt. New additions Tomlinson and Langdon will be sliding by on the outside ready to receive anything from the insiders. Gawn receives little assistance but you can expect to see Tom McDonald occasionally pinch-hit in the ruck if Braydon Preuss remsin in the VFL.

TRAINING: Friday 17th January 2020
I wasn’t suggesting that they would train at Casey for better air quality. I was presuming that they might be training at Casey to keep away from prying eyes.

Petracca Ready to Establish Himself
"He’s understanding the work rate required and the training required to be a great player." Assistant coach Ben Mathews has been impressed by Christian Petracca's efforts + says the best is yet to come. ?: https://mfcde.es/2TCXymm

I bet there will be a few closed Casey session between now and Round 1.

TRAINING: Friday 17th January 2020
Which tweet? None of the last few tweets mention a Friday session or lack there of. The training times link however lists Monday as the next open session. It’s possible that there will be more and more “closed” sessions as the season gets closer. Whether closed means closed on an open public field or closed as in off site from prying eyes is anyone’s guess.

The next open session is listed as Monday 20th January. Anyone know why they're skipping Friday or is it a "closed" or offsite session? https://www.melbournefc.com.au/teams/training-times Date: Monday 20 January Start time: 9.45am Location: Gosch's Paddock- AFLW: Dees Numbers Running Low
Apparently not. From the article “The AFLW's injury replacement rule was last used in 2017, when list sizes were 27 (compared to the current 30). When the number of available players drops below 23, clubs can bring in a top-up player.”- TRAINING POSTPONED: Wednesday 15th January 2020
Indoor play today. Taking it to the courts. It was shirts ? no shirts, as we headed indoors for today’s training session. ?: Training Gallery: Dees go indoors- TRAINING POSTPONED: Wednesday 15th January 2020
- AFLW: Dees Numbers Running Low
Our Women’s team is as cursed as the men’s. Bianca Jakobsson's withdrawal (work commitments) cuts Melbourne's list to 26, although LPearce is expected to return at some point. Looking a little dicey for Melbourne three weeks out from round one. Dees running low on players with star to miss the season- TRAINING POSTPONED: Wednesday 15th January 2020

Parking info Non-event car parking is available opposite AAMI Park at the National Tennis Centre.- Air Quality & Preseason Training
I’m not in Melbourne at the moment but from what I’m reading the Air Quality on some days is pretty crap and with warnings for people to stay inside unless absolutely necessary what are you thoughts on teams training in these conditions especially at the high intensity of a professional sport. The AFL has been forced to brief club doctors on Melbourne's smoky haze as air quality reached 'hazardous' levels on Tuesday. Clubs eye air quality as 'hazardous' smoke haze hits Melbourne- Dunkley Fit & Ready to Go
A trip to the States, with plenty of training on the agenda. After a big off-season, Kyle Dunkley is feeling fit + ready to go. ? ?: https://mfcde.es/2Th37qJ - TRAINING POSTPONED: Wednesday 15th January 2020
