  1. “He was really on track for a very good season before hurting his knee. He obviously played Round 1 in his first year which was a great start and he had a really good pre-season. He’s got a mature body, he’s a really strong tackler and really good with his contest work. He’s chipping away with his other stuff but showed he can play at AFL level. He had some good VFL form before he hurt his knee, and unfortunately missed the rest of the year. It was disappointing for a first-year player, our highest draft pick, to miss out, because he was on track for a really good season.” - Matt Egan MFC Head of Player Development An update on the first-year Demons Date of Birth: 31 May, 2000 Height: 183 cm Weight: 82 kg Games MFC 2019: 2 Career Total: 2 Goals MFC 2019: 1 Career Total: 1 CDFC Games 2019: 6 CDFC Goals 2019: 0 Votes 2019 Keith 'Bluey' Truscott Memorial Trophy: 11 votes
  2. The versatile utility grew in stature at the club and played in every game in 2019 across the defence, wing and up forward where he never let the team down. 4. Yes and only 16 goals for the rest of his 8 year career.
  5. The running and high pressure tackling that was a feature of Neal-Bullen's play in 2018 seemed to desert him this season as did his possession & goal kicking output in the forward line. 7. If we aren't successful ie: playing finals and getting prime time TV spots then we are not attractive to major big name long term sponsors. Same goes for attracting big name quality players but that's another story for a different thread.
  8. Looks like the Jaguar deal was for the 2019 year. https://www.melbournefc.com.au/news/2019-02-11/melbourne-welcomes-jaguar
  9. The Zurich partnership was for 3 years and began in January 2018.
  10. Interestingly today's draft is a state-based one, so if players nominate Victoria, they can either choose the Melbourne Metro zone (every team except Geelong), Geelong or the entire state. If players nominate Queensland, they can either choose a zone of residence (Brisbane or Gold Coast) or the whole state.
  11. There will be four new teams joining the AFLW in 2020. St Kilda's first ever selection will come with pick No. 5, Richmond at pick 7, Gold Coast at pick 18 (pick three in the Queensland state-based draft) and West Coast at pick 19 (pick No.2 for the Western Australian pool). The 2019 NAB AFL Women’s Draft will be live streamed on womens.afl, the AFLW App and the AFLW Facebook account from 10:40am EDT on 22 October. See the full draft order and club picks below. 12. I believe Mahoney also mentioned that Richardson hadn't officially started but had been down to the club on multiple occasions.
  13. Welcome to Demonland. They have also updated the player profiles page to include Tomlinson and Langdon sans the numbers that they will have. Billy Stretch and JKH are still there (only delisted today) but they've removed the recently retired and other previously delisted players. Mahoney has said on I believe two radio interviews that there will be no more changes in or out to the coaching staff.

  15. After playing all 25 games in 2018, Oscar McDonald’s progress was stymied as he battled with loss of form and injuries. Will need a strong preseason.
