  3. SEED 4 – LACHIE HUNTER (MELBOURNE) A bit of a left-field call, slotting him at number four, especially when many believe that his counterpart at Melbourne is a better overall player. However, Hunter has a knack for finding the footy and loves to get forward with it. In his first season at the Dees, he was +2.88 on his previous numbers for the Dogs (although he was way more prolific in pre-covid times. Still, jumping to a new club and slotting in immediately is a tough ask, and I reckon Hunter will be better for the run. How that looks for Ed Langdon, however, remains to be seen. SEED 8 – ED LANGDON (MELBOURNE) I mentioned him, above. His numbers took a hit in 2023 and I reckon the Demons’ wingmen were not quite in sync. Langdon will run all day, but I found that he was often stuck on the dead side of the ground, whilst Lachie Hunter occupied the busier side. Whether this was tactical, or just bad luck, Langdon is far too good a player to be deferring to Hunter all the time. Was it a battle of wills? Was it Hunter just wanting the footy more? Or was it a pair of elite wingmen not working together to ensure the Dees got the best of both worlds from both? Langdon was -1.79 disposals on his 2022 numbers, and was down over 50 metres per game in terms of distance covered with the footy. It was his lowest output since 2017 at Freo. Those numbers don’t fill me with confidence.

I can't wait to see the Casey (or Caulfield) Demons play at Caulfield Racecourse in a few years time.
  6. I think the Kansas City Chiefs have cornered the market on that one.

  10. So now we have reports of his hamstring, calf and groin. Amazed he can walk.

  12. My kids and nephews and nieces are devastated that there is no family day this year. It's the only chance they get to have face to face with the players.
  13. I only wish I had the access that the Club has to players and officials and the platform they have to bring informative and creative content to the supporter base and beyond. And I’d do it for free.
  14. Should wear one of these.
  15. I wouldn't mind either attending or taking part in a faithful reenactment of our premiership a la Civil War Reenactments where people dress up in period clothing to reenact the event. The period clothing.
  16. Guys let's not derail the Injury Thread with discussions about our forward line woes. Talk about them in the Forward Line Woes Thread.
  17. I can't recall hearing a reason but he has been doing a separate modified program away from the main group for the past few months at training. Over the past weeks he has slowly been integrating into the main group initially for the warm up drills and then doing a modified program when the contact drills began. Yesterday was the first time I have seen him in the contact drills but before the end he left the field (not necessarily because of anything sinister) to ride the bike in the shed. I have not seen him much in a match situation but from limited viewings at trainings he has a great pair of hands, takes a good grab and has nice skills and a good kick. Can't comment on whether he has any mongrel in him but he laid a nice ferocious tackle at training yesterday. He got a lot of kudos from his teammates for it and I can only surmise that it was the type of congratulations you would receive if it was the type of actions the team wanted to see more of.
  18. All of the above. Rehab in my training observations usually just refers to anyone not training with the main group and doing anything from a modified program to chatting with @WalkingCivilWar over the fence.
  19. Reports mention calf awareness. He was doing a lot of jogging and light running today and to my untrained eye looked somewhat hampered. I initially thought hammy but could easily have been calf which is what is being reported albeit not directly from the club to the membership base yet.
