Whatever any coach or player says now, including Bailey, I want him to say

"I, we are accountable. The buck stops here."

Wasn't as bad as last week, is all I can say.

You know how when you first sit down in the outer and scope the neighbourhood, trying to size up the annoyancequotient of those around you and you spot some guy who you know is going to give you the absolute irrits all afternoon?

Today, sat down, quick scope, didn't look too bad, but found after five minutes that I was surrounded by uber-irritating Carlton nongs. Made my life a misery and to top it all off they got to sing that horrible dirge of a song of theirs.

Come on Demons. Cheer me up and win a game.

We let ourselves down again today by not hitting targets often enough

Not putting enough pressure on carlton when they had the ball

Carlton didnt play well either which is disturbing for us

Carltons lack of pressure allowed us to win the final quarter

As each week goes by bailey is going to know at seasons end who he keeps, who he needs and who cleans out their locker

Swampfox

We were much better today... our younger players finally showed something. Best game I have seen from Sylvia, Frawley and maybe even Bell.. We just looked more comfortable with the ball and if it were not for some dubious free kick goals and some brillance from Fev and Judd, we could have won. We probably had more players who won their positions except there 2 stars dominated!! Also much better with a smaller forward line, we actually had some pressure and crumbers...

Did anyone think that Frawley actually looked better on Fev than Carrol?

Looks more like a footballer rather than some future festival raver...

Sylvia, a permanent back please!

We were much better today...

just checking....you did go to the G today ?

better !!! that was unmitigated cr@p for all bar about 20 mins today

the highlight of the year has been to lose to the reigning premiers by 30.. yeehaaa..do wacka doo !! lets all celbrate !!

U obviously didnt go last week then.... 1/3 of our possessions last week were ineffective, today when we had some structure we were much better.... being negative only goes so far, a team without confidence does not need a kick in the guts from its supporters... Apart from the second half of the second quarter when Carlton kicked 7 unanswered goals, the game was even and we probably had better chances... We just need to weed that undisciplined play out the game but get those pansy umpires to actually let the play go!

No..i didntnt go last week.. so am primarily comparing to the others I did..

Todays game was never even.. They the bluecr@ppers ahad far more purpose and setup going forward.. we had >>>NONE !!..hell we could nt even avoind falling over ouselves in the back line.. comedy at its best really !!

I guess will be the only team without a win

just a question

After listening to the westcoast v Port match

are we playing a simliar style to west coast?

A Fevolution is the act of a commentator speaking without realizing what a tool he is.

Not much worse than your team getting done and having to hear Captain Obvious Mark McLure put your team and club down.

What's with Carroll - each week he goes and bumps and shoves players before the siren - tell him to go and win a contest during the match - Frawley outpointed Fevola twice in a row when he was finally moved onto him. The other clubs just think Carroll is a complete joke!!!!!!! And he is.

Frawley was much better an option than Caroll inthe end. Though Sylvia, Green, Wonemari(not sure how to spell it) played well. Green is a much better option in the fwd line than in the midfield.

I also had some Carlton supporters behind me, im sorry but they gave me that sh!ts with their ridiculous comments!

On the face of it - yes. Poor disposal, skill error, not hitting targets etc.

Watching the Eagles, I thought they may be our only chance.

I think he is an OK player, but the macho stuff? - just crap. Good grief!

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

From the start, Melbourne’s performance against the Gold Coast Suns at Peoples First Stadium was nothing short of a massive botch up and it came down in the first instance to poor preparation. Rather than adequately preparing the team for battle against an opponent potentially on the skids after suffering three consecutive losses, the Demons looking anything but sharp and ready to play in the opening minutes of the game. By way of contrast, the Suns demonstrated a clear sense of purpose and will to win. From the very first bounce of the ball they were back to where they left off earlier in the season in Round Three when the teams met at the MCG. They ran rings around the Demons and finished the game off with a dominant six goal final term. This time, they produced another dominant quarter to start the game, restricting Melbourne to a solitary point to lead by six goals at the first break, by which time, the game was all but over.

  • CASEY: Gold Coast

Coming off four consecutive victories and with a team filled with 17 AFL listed players, the Casey Demons took to their early morning encounter with the lowly Gold Coast Suns at People First Stadium with the swagger of a team that thought a win was inevitable. They were smashing it for the first twenty minutes of the game after Tom Fullarton booted the first two goals but they then descended into an abyss of frustrating poor form and lackadaisical effort that saw the swagger and the early arrogance disappear by quarter time when their lead was overtaken by a more intense and committed opponent. The Suns continued to apply the pressure in the second quarter and got out to a three goal lead in mid term before the Demons fought back. A late goal to the home side before the half time bell saw them ten points up at the break and another surge in the third quarter saw them comfortably up with a 23 point lead at the final break.

  • POSTGAME: Rd 16 vs Gold Coast

The Demons did not come to play from the opening bounce and let the Gold Coast kick the first 5 goals of the match. They then outscored the Suns for the next 3 quarters but it was too little too late and their season is now effectively over.
