DRAFT DAY LOOMING

Seeing as we have pick #4, and the first couple of picks seem sorted, as in Kruezer/Cotchin/Morton...who does that leave us with?

There has been so much hype regarding the first 3, I would not have a clue who we are in line to pick up.

Happy to read your thoughts.

Here's hoping we get a 10 year star!!

Try the drafts and trading forum mate. Theres a bucketload of information and discussion on it there. I think you'll find that we're about 80% certain to end up with Morton as well, which is excellent.

Can anyone forsee the possibility of us bypassing all of Kreuzer, Morton, Cotchin, Masten and Palmer.

No.

From everything i've seen and heard today, Morton seems to be available with our Pick 4.

And CAC did say Kruzer, Cotchin and Morton were the 3 best players and if available he would read out their numbers b4 Vlad even had a chance to say "Melbourne Pick 4..."

Fair enough.

But you never know, CAC may pull off a smokey for our pick 4. I hope not, but you never know. The old smoke and mirrors trick.

No !

He DID say he'd take the best available... I think he mumbled something about it being a certainty that we'd take Cotchin or Kreuzer if they fell that far, so he's pretty much saying that he'll take the best available, and he's said that Morton is number 3... so...

I'm more interested in picks 14 and 21, to which he's drilled out the old "best available" line again.

Fair enough.

I believev CAC is on the record of saying that he will take the best available with pick 4. Its unlikely to be a smokey.

I have this gut feeling that we'll take Morton at pick 4.

We'll know soon enough.

  • REPORT: Hawthorn

The final score in Saturday's game against Hawthorn was almost identical to that from their last contest three months ago. Melbourne suffered comprehensive defeats in both games, but the similarities ended there. When they met in Round 9, the Demons were resurgent, seeking to redeem themselves after a lacklustre start to the season. They approached the game with vigour and dynamism, and were highly competitive for the first three quarters, during which they were at least on par with the Hawks. In the final term, they lapsed into error and were ultimately overrun, but the final result did not accurately reflect their effort and commitment throughout the match.

  • CASEY: Box Hill

The Casey Demons ended the regular season on a positive note and gained substantial momentum leading into the finals when they knocked the Box Hill Hawks off the top of the VFL ladder in their final round clash at Casey Fields. More importantly, they moved out of a wild card position in the finals race and secured a week's rest as they leapfrogged up the ladder into fifth place with their decisive 23-point victory over the team that had been the dominant force in the competition for most of the season.
