One day left - can we get another high pick?

I would love CAC to pull something out of the hat tomorrow to give us another top 15 pick

Not sure what we could do, but a combination of Brad Miller and pick 21 to Sydney might get their pick 11? Ok probably not, but I hope something is done

I also would like to see CJ traded for a pick

The more picks the better

CAC just on SEN...he said he dont have any more trades on the cards, tho he said that he will still be talking to the other clubs up until the deadline.

dont expect any more deals, perhaps only trading CJ for a 3rd rounder...

Miller will definitely be a demon next year, Bailey believes he can turn his potential into success

I was thinking the same thing. Miller will be staying though. Bailey i think will want to return Brad back to his crash and bash ways of '04, he just needs to be taught when the right time is the right time, and how to do it properly.

SURELY they have not given up trading Carrol already! Given the hawks "DESPERATION" for a backman, I would have though carrol would have been an option.

I am still suprised carlton has not gone after Carrol. They could on trade thornton for Boyle, and still have a solid backman in carrol.

Ok..i'll say it for us all.. cant wait to see exactly what this potential is that we've all obviously overlooked ( sorry.. 95% of us all) This I must confess is the only aspect of this week that confounds me. Happy to take even two serves of humble pie if he can get this guy to be useful on a football field !! He must have somethig particular in mind as he's been rather purposeful in the short whiles he's been at the helm. I await the realisation of the vision !!

I would be shocked if anything else happened. I mean only CJ and Carroll are up for option. Fergs isnt worth a single grain of rice. Be a bit upset to lose Carroll. I dont rate him highly as a fb but i think he could be a good back pocket player taking the 2nd best forward for the oposition. Its good if he get anything from pick 1 - 40 but after that its not worth it.

what about ben mckinley?? u said he was a certain to become a dee.. at 2pm when it is over i expect the headline "McKINLEY A DEMON"

Yeah good luck to Bailey with Miller. If he becomes a player, i'll eat my hat, and everyone elses here as well.

Would love another couple of draft picks. The more the better.

CJ for a third rounder and Miller for a second rounder will do nicely. Although if we can orchestrate a way to get a top 15 pick I would be ecstatic.

get on the keep miller bandwagon you guys...clubs showing interest in him says a bit..and bailey wanting him says even more (cream genius)

i rckon get rid of CJ for a pick from the saints- he's got talent tat boy but has taken far too long to produce a decent game

no i will be excited for him and the club. i had high hopes for him but there have been a few issues. his kicknig hasnt developed. it should have. his game hasnt developed. it should have. he has no confidence and is a liability on the field these days.

if he continues like he is going we should trade him and run, if we can get more out of him we keep him he could be valuable. if bailey wants to keep him good on him. and good luck to miller. hopefully he can become the player we thought he could be.

I agree Deanox, if we could get a second rounder for Miller and get McKinley across for maybe TJ, then it would cap off our week nicely. I still see value with retaining Frosty, but is that value greater than a second round pick?

Sydney might get their pick 11?

Ok I realise I am being roundly ignored, but one more time.....

Sydney will not be giving up their first round draft pick.

Roos has said so, Maxfield has said so, the press up here has had it said many a time now.

I think that we all need to move on from the fact that it would take an absolute miracle to get that pick out of the Swans grasp.

And the closest thing we had to that miracle was TJ (and I don't think that would have been enough for them either) so, you work it out.......

So you still think Sydney might give us their first round pick?

Cool.

Hi! ;p

fergs actually looks like a single grain of rice so your statement is spot on!

i think carroll we should defintely keep - problem is with our undersize backline he plays as a key position not on the third tall.

by the way can someone tell me how old miller is and what year was he drafted?

Miller has just re-signed for two years.

When looking back at the disastrous end to the game, I find it a waste of time to concentrate on the final few moments when utter confusion reigned. Forget the 6-6-6 mess, the failure to mark the most dangerous man on the field, the inability to seal the game when opportunities presented themselves to Clayton Oliver, Harry Petty and Charlie Spargo, the vision of match winning players of recent weeks in Kozzy Pickett and Jake Melksham spending helpless minutes on the interchange bench and the powerlessness of seizing the opportunity to slow the tempo of the game down in those final moments.

  • CASEY: Sandringham

The Casey Demons rebounded from a sluggish start to manufacture a decisive win against Sandringham in the final showdown, culminating a quarter century of intense rivalry between the fluctuating alignments of teams affiliated with AFL clubs Melbourne and St Kilda, as the Saints and the Zebras prepare to forge independent paths in 2026. After conceding three of the first four goals of the match, the Demons went on a goal kicking rampage instigated by the winning ruck combination of Tom Campbell with 26 hitouts, 26 disposals and 13 clearances and his apprentice Will Verrall who contributed 20 hitouts. This gave first use of the ball to the likes of Jack Billings, Bayley Laurie, Riley Bonner and Koltyn Tholstrup who was impressive early. By the first break they had added seven goals and took a strong grip on the game. The Demons were well served up forward early by Mitch Hardie and, as the game progressed, Harry Sharp proved a menace with a five goal performance. Emerging young forwards Matthew Jefferson and Luker Kentfield kicked two each but the former let himself down with some poor kicking for goal.
Young draft talent Will Duursma showed the depth of his talent and looks well out of reach for Melbourne this year. Kalani White was used sparingly and had a brief but uneventful stint in the ruck.

The Demons return to the scene of the crime on Saturday to face the wooden spooners the Eagles at the Docklands. Who comes in and who goes out? Like moving deck chairs on the Titanic.

It's Game Day and there are only 5 games to go. Can the Demons find some consistency and form as they stagger towards the finish line of another uninspiring season?
