Taking away Chinese

Featured Replies

I don't mean any offence to the Chinese, but if we find anybody from over there who is worth taking on under a training scholarship or whatever it is, I will fall off my chair.

I'm sure there are Chinese blokes who could play footy just fine, but the odds that they actually do play in any of the tiny competitions they have running over there? Bugger all.

It might not be so much about finding actual talent, rather giving China a real interest in the MFC. Having one of their own training with us and a chance of one day play with us will no doubt give them some interest and ownership in our brand. One would think they would have also been able to secure some AFL funding under a game development initiative. Smart move and sure to crate some positive publicity over there.

And with regards to the player/s being any good...its a long shot but its also an untaped sourse...you just never know.

Great, now they're actually spending money on this joke.

the next step in the china initiative i like it. any prospective player who looks at our website will see it written in chinese. we will be their first choice.

yeah the odds are terrible.. Only a 1.3 Billion of them !!:lol:

  • PREVIEW: Richmond

Who would have imagined, when the season kicked off early last month, that Melbourne would emerge from the opening six weeks with wins over both Queensland powerhouses? At the time, Gold Coast and Brisbane were the competition’s early pace-setters, the flavours of the month, and the prospect of the Demons toppling both within the course of a fortnight seemed remote. Yet here they are, banking those scalps alongside home victories over two traditional Victorian rivals and building a quietly impressive resume.

From the outset, the Casey Demons lacked any spring in their steps. They were out-hustled and out-bustled and finally outplayed by the Brisbane Lions by 38 points on their home turf in perfect conditions at Casey Fields.
