The term "woke" emerged among Black Americans as a way to describe being alert to social injustices, especially racism and inequality. It has since expanded to include issues like sexism, homophobia, misogyny, ableism ..

At its core, it’s about empathy and being accepting and tolerant of others’ experiences and ways of living their lives.

Yes, normally the god botherers that dress up well and knock on your door. Tough job for them, I am a rusted on atheist, but……..many years ago I had two Rottweiler dogs. You had to open a gate to get to my front door.

The gate had a bell you could ring and there was a big sign that said ‘Dogs running free’ and a picture of a Rottweiler. Everyone without fail that didn’t know me or the dogs would ring the bell.

Lo and behold one day I heard a knock on the front door. When I answered the door there were two god botherers. I was shocked and asked if they saw the sign. They said yes but believed that god would look after them.

After I moved them on I went outside to look to see where the dogs were. They were both fast asleep in the back yard.

I thought that there truly must be a god. Closest I’ve come to being converted!
