So many did so well. Actually make 1. The team. What a fantastic effort.

One of the better wins I can recall. Watched it again, which changed my initial votes. At half time with the Crows having the ascendancy across the ground and on the scoreboard courtesy of three horrid umpiring decisions, the girls could be forgiven for feeling as flat as a nightman's hat. The tide had to be turned in the first five minutes of the third quarter and I thought Heath and Harris in particular led the charge, both really imposing themselves on the game.

Really wanted to give a vote to The Spoon who is surely approaching cult figure status but Goldie and Fitz's contributions across four quarters nudged her out.

Wow … a lead change this late in the season

  • PREVIEW: Essendon

Not long ago, the narrative surrounding Melbourne was steeped in pessimism. There was some concern among the pundits (and even some fans) that the club would arrive at the AFL’s Gather Round still winless, vulnerable to a familiar adversary in the Essendon Football Club, and facing significant scrutiny from an ever-critical media on a national stage. Things have changed.

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

Steven King astutely identified the issues that had plagued the Melbourne Football Club over the past two and a half seasons when he auditioned for the newly created coaching role. The side that had claimed the 2021 premiership had become stodgy, slow-paced, and hesitant to take the initiative.
