Just a little snippet from Riley. Must admit I like his approach. Is going to be interesting to see how he goes. ( and the team of course )

I got to admit, first time i have heard him talk and i was pretty impressed with him although it was very small :)

This may have already been said, but who will take over Riley's assistant postion. He was in charge of the forwards from memory, so when they break off into their huddles at the breaks which coach will be with the forwards?

no one !!... :-)

Thanks for the link bb59.......

Wow, "Melbourne go for youth" - who'd have seen that coming..... I reckon the Journos would have had the headline wating for a couple of weeks now!

Still it gives us something to look forward to and has a definite goal for the team.

The Herald one is interesting.... a family stole a puppy??

Not surprising, at least we'll be able to get a glimpse at our future. It's about all we've got now.

According to the article on the MFC Danny Frawley is a chance of getting some game time!

"Danny Frawley, Lynden Dunn and the yet-to-debut Simon Buckley are just a few players the coach mentioned were in the frame to spend time at AFL level with spots opening up thanks to a high injury toll out of Friday night’s loss to Essendon."

I appreciate the AFL writes these pieces, but couldn't someone proof-read it?

It's all one big positive imo, especially Wheels, Bartram and Rivers having the rest of the year off to get themselves right.

They are three key players and they need to be fit for next season.

Buckley sounds like a good chance to debut as well, which is exciting.

Agreed. Seeing our younger guys playing makes it very worth rocking up to the 'G this Sunday.

Yze to assist with the forward line coaching and Rivers the back line as we are one coach down. See last paragraph. I'd rather them on the park but a good solution to our coaching numbers.

With the Demons now one man short on the coaching front, Yze and Rivers will help out. Yze has been assigned a role supporting Barry Prendergast, who steps up from forward scout to forwards' coach. Rivers will assist Peter Curran in his defensive coaching role.

Pickett is going to have to fight for his place- I think he is gone in 2008!

2024 Player Reviews: #36 Kysaiah Pickett

The Demons’ aggressive small forward who kicks goals and defends the Demons’ ball in the forward arc. When he’s on song, he’s unstoppable but he did blot his copybook with a three week suspension in the final round. 2024 Player Reviews: #1 Steven May

The years are rolling by but May continued to be rock solid in a key defensive position despite some injury concerns. It was another strong season from McVee who spent most of his time mainly at half back but he also looked at home on a few occasions when he was moved into the midfield.
