First goal to the Ranges to โ€ฆ

Sullivan Robey. Who else?

Good competitive mark and kick from 40m on a tight angle. No worries for him !!!

Another one to his name.

He just looks like a pure footy player doesnโ€™t he?

i miss the time when the GF for the VFL & Coates league was on GF monring at the G. Why did they stop doing that?

Kye Fincher. Goal from 50 and it sailed through. Heโ€™s a quality player (tied to Saints academy).

How's the Dove going?

ย

Xavier Taylor (Ranges) Already 8 disposals and 3 marks. Heโ€™s like a Daniel Turner clone. Good mark. Can rebound the footy. Also likes the physical side when needed. Will go top 25-30.

Lachy Dovaston looks like that smug little forward I hate in another teams but would love on oursโ€ฆ aka Nick Watson.

has had a really good last 5 minutes in this game.

@Whispering_Jack

โญ๏ธOllie Greeves. Eastern. 4 goals. 35 possessions. Has future star written all over. Top 10 Draftee

โญ๏ธLachie Dovaston. The kid will adapt perfectly into AFL. Smart and skilled sml forward. Two goals today.

โญ๏ธSullivan Robey. 25 possessions and a key goal early in the last qtr sealed the game before the Ranges marched on.

โญ๏ธWillem Duursma. If heโ€™s not pick 1, heโ€™s pick 2. Will play AFL very early in 2026. Eagles likely to get him.

โญ๏ธRory Wright. Just really hope he lands at the Dees. Great young midfielder. Best on ground v Giopsland today in a tough contest. Has the goods to be an AFL player. Iโ€™ve called him out since April and not changing my mind. Get him JT!!!

I coached Greeves in juniors and have followed him over the past 12 months. Seems very outside to me. I'd have similar questions over him that there were over Smillie last year. Nice kick and a good mark, but a little outside. And you either have it on the inside or you don't.

1/2 time. Three goal lead to the Rsnges after a 6 goal second quarter to flip the game. Some of the likely draftees are standing out

Ranges.

Xavier Taylor. 14 possessions. 7 marks. Controlling the back half.

Lachie Dovaston. Shocking haircut. Trying to be a Nick Watson clone. Heโ€™s a smart small forward and two good goals.

Oskar Taylor. 13 possessions. So damaging with the footy. Plays like Archie Roberts. Left foot rebounding half back. Can see why heโ€™s riding up the draft boards.

Sullivan Robey. Two early goals. 6 possessions but his movement and composure with the footy screams AFL quality.

Ollie Greeves. Like an Ollie Wines. Big contested player. Smart too and tackles strong. His goal was Petracca like!!

Dragons

Rory Wright. You can see his potential when he gets the footy. Knows how to run into space. His left foot kicking is excellent, though one clanger did let him down.

Xavier Bamert. Showing that, as I think, heโ€™s better behind the ball as a half back. Good left foot rebounding skills. Good overhead. Not sure why he played forward for many games this year.

I'd be happy to target any of Sulley, Dovaston and Taylor x 2 if we get back into the first round. Only one from the Ranges I'm not convinced would suit us is Greeves.

Although thereโ€™s a few players in this game that are playing much better, Reidy and Dovaston would suit our needs in a small forward. Theyโ€™re playing a really good game

Robey kicked a vital goal. But itโ€™s the Dragons full of run. 5 goals to 1. Willis Reidy with 4 goals, ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘showing out as a talent too.

He will go a lot earlier than that, he is a first round pick and will be the first or second Eastern boy picked.

Potential draft guns fire Ranges to GF win over Dragons

Some of the best young players in this year's draft crop showed their wares in the Coates Boys League Grand Final

Thatโ€™s Sullivan Robey in the middle of the picture. The four goals he kicked and his imposing stature will do no harm to his draft prospects.

Richmond and Essendon have two picks each currently in the top 5. I don't think he gets past both of them.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: West Coast

Epic battle alert. ย This Sunday, Casey Fields hosts a coachโ€™s showdownย pitting the wits of the master Mick Stinear (92 games, 71.7% winย rate)ย againstย hisย protรฉgรฉ Daisy Pearce (16ย games,ย 43.8%). Still early in her coaching journey, Daisyโ€™s record doesnโ€™t yet reflect her impact โ€” but sheโ€™s already the best-performed coach at West Coast.Daisโ€™ย isย mythic. ย Likeย Katniss Everdeen, everyone either wants to kiss her, kill herย (sporting metaphor) orย be her. ย Toothersย Daisy Pearceย isย a role model,ย someone admired for their heart, humility and humour.

  • AFLW REPORT: Port Adelaide

Well, that was a shock. The Demons 4-game unbeaten run came to a grinding halt in a tense, scrappy affair at the sunny, windy Alberton Oval, with the Power holding on for a 2-point win. The Dees had their chancesโ€”plenty of themโ€”but couldn't convert when it mattered most. Portโ€™s tackling pressure rattled the Dees, triggering a fumble frenzy and surprising lack of composure from seasoned players.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Port Adelaide

The undefeated Demons venture across the continent to the spiritual home of the Port Adelaide Football Club on Saturday afternoon for the inaugural match for premiership points between these long-historied clubs. Alberton Oval will however, be a ground familiar to our players following a practice match there last year. We lost both the game and Liv Purcell, who missed 7 home and away matches after suffering facial fractures in the dying moments of the game.

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmyโ€™s inclusive bannerโ€”"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwoodโ€™s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.ย

  • CASEY: Frankston

The late-season run of Casey wins was broken in their first semifinal against Frankston in a heartbreaking end at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday night that in many respects reflected their entire season. When they were bad, they committed all of the football transgressions, including poor disposal, indiscipline, an inability to exert pressure, and some terrible decision-making, as exemplified by the period in the game when they conceded nine unanswered goals from early in the second quarter until halfway through the third term. You rarely win when you do this.
