Clarrys 200th

Fortunate to have seen every Melbourne player since the late 1970's. Flower stands above all as the best I've seen. Gawn is next because his influence has made everyone else better. Oliver sits comfortably third behind those two and well ahead of the next best. At his best (and he was amazingly consistent between 2017 and half way through 2023) I would say he was the most influential mid in the competition. In 2017, only his second year in the AFL he won the Bluey by nearly 200 votes! He polled 530 to the runner up, Jack Viney's 346. He had just turned 20. 2nd in 2018 - his first AA year, tied with Gawn in 2019, 5th in 2020, Back to back wins in 21 and 22. That's 6 consecutive top 5 positions in the Bluey, 3 x AA and 2 x AFLCA Player of the Year to go with a flag. If he stopped playing today he'd rightly be recognized as an all time great, yet at 27 there is so much more to come. Have a great game Clarry and thanks for the incredible highlights you've provided us with over the last 10 seasons. Much appreciated.

Cranky, this is a thread to celebrate Clarry's 200th. There are plenty of threads to critique his performance and the club's. Show a little bit of respect.

My discussion was with Picket Fence who claimed Clarry was better than Barrassi.

So make a thread about it.

Congrats Clarry.

My favourite player and the best contested ball player I have ever seen.

Get back to your best and we will be congratulating you on your 300th for us and maybe a couple more flags.

Good maybe you can give Clayton some ideas about getting a kick in his 200th

Just gonna focus on you figuring out how to use the new thread button.

I'll focus on trading Clayton for 2 players who can get a kick.

  • REPORT: Carlton

The text messages started flooding in shortly after quarter time. One read: “Is Melbourne even at the ground?” Moments later, as Carlton’s Elijah Hollands kicked the first goal of the second term, the Blues held a commanding 43-point lead. By then, the Demons’ only score was a behind kicked by Brody Mihocek nearly five minutes into the game. Ironically, Mihocek would also register the last minor score of the day after the game took a dramatic turnaround.
