Yes, feedback is terrible. Can someone call them.

I called and it went to voicemail

Another good listen.

It feels like the players are so focused on trying to implement the new ball movement plans that they aren't doing the basics well.

We need to get back to worrying about pressure and contested ball as our primary focus on game day.

A bit like when you practice a new golf swing. While on the range you spend time thinking about it and implementing the change, but once you're out on the course you just focus on hitting the ball.

I'm listening to the podcast and it is feeding back like crazy... anyone else having issues or is this a me thing?

I have no idea what was even causing it.

I had not touch anything in my setup nor change any settings since the last show.

I ended up closing the program at streams our audio and when I reopened and reconnected it was gone.

That’s really strange. It was a slap back delay sound, so either another microphone somewhere was picking up on a sound source or a secondary output was directly feeding audio into an input. The delay sound wasn’t degraded though, which makes me think it was the latter. It sounded like the same signal repeating itself?

Audio stuff just does weird things sometimes.

The way my equipment is set up it shouldn't allow for that. My cohosts weren't hearing anything feeding back to them and no settings or equipment had changed from last week. Simply shutting down the streaming software and restarting it without changing any audio setting fixed it.

Huh, maybe just a weird software glitch then with the stream output. If nobody else was hearing it, then the signals up until that point were all good. That’s weird.

Thanks for fronting up for another very enjoyable and balanced pod guys. Mrs DoF and I listened to your dulcet tones while driving from Canberra to Adelaide for Gather Round. Two hours of what would otherwise have been monotonous driving, disappeared in no time.

PS. We are convinced that our voices in the crowd will make a huge difference, and a win over Ess’don will prove to be the turning point in the season for our beloved Dees!

Just finished listening to the podcast, thanks Andy, Binman, George and all contributors you covered a lot of territory. We are in a lot of trouble but I agree that we need to press on with the new game plan and we need to get a better tactician up in the box, we really do miss Adem Yze’s management and guidance, especially with a couple of new coaches and I don’t think that learning the ropes is the best way to learn coaching at AFL level. A great listen but so many problems, hopefully getting a few more young guns who can kick may bring us all a bit of joy going forward.😁👍

Loved this pod gents.

Was a bit concerned for binners when he was talking about trading out trac and clarry or playing clarry as a forward, however I knew he was OK when he was postulating about the potential for our lack of fitness to be of design. Oh yes, loading sermons have started early this year and I'm here for it 😅

  • THE STATS FILES: St. Kilda

As part of the effort to trim the runtime of the regular podcast, we’ve been looking at which segments could be reshaped without losing what makes them valuable. One segment that naturally came into focus was Binman’s Stats Files. Not because it isn’t important; quite the opposite. It’s become such a substantial and much-loved part of the show that it deserves a little room to breathe.

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

One of the big stories of the AFL off-season was the spending spree of Melbourne’s Round 1 opponent, St Kilda. They splashed out heavily, first to retain Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera - the hero of last year’s epic come-from-behind miracle victory -turning him into a $2 million man. They then effectively took out an expensive overdraft to recruit a string of expensive players from other clubs. It was a risky investment strategy and, although it’s still early days, it certainly failed to pay off in Sunday’s season opener, with much of the glitter turning to fool’s gold.
