Another poor coaching performance.

No answer for the Giants handball game.

Tmac on Hogan made no sense.

Another poor coaching performance by McQualter too.

Exactly Hogan is the best key forward going round - May was the obvious match. May was moved after the damage was done. A repeat of the West Coast game when Waterman killed us.

We lost by 2 points to a side many on here said pre-game we wouldn't beat, who played champagne football from clearance for 20 minutes and kicked 5 goals, and who kicked beautifully all night. If anything, it was the coaching that kept us in it. It was our inefficient playing list, unable to capitalise on momentum and unable to execute under pressure, which kept us out of it.

A lot on here are really overblowing how good the Giants are. They lost to Richmond and the Suns on expected score and only won off their accuracy. They’ve lost to the likes of Essendon and Adelaide (both teams we’ve beaten). I fully expected to win last night but the fact is after the Giants made some tactical changes after qtr time we had no answer.

I also thought we’d win for similar reasons.

They’ve now won 3 straight off the back of playing efficient football. Last night they weren’t flawless (other than the first 5 minutes of the fourth) but they took advantage of any momentum they had and we are adept at squandering momentum we have.

Not specifically having a go at Goodwin, but what’s the upside in not having your premier defender in May on their premier forward in Hogan?

That was the point.  May on Riccardi. Why?  Hogan is their main key forward.  It was a mistake to put Tmcd on Hogan, and it was one of the reasons that we lost the game.

Goody will not make in game coaching changes unless the game is already lost.  That is my biggest criticism of him. He is stubborn and sticks to the system rather than tactical changes to maximise individual strengths.
