Couldnt get too the game today cause of work, just tuned into MMM and going by there call Melbourne`s got no spark of life... There skill levels sound 2nd grade and the players just seem not to give a toss?? They really need to do something down there in a hurry.. before alot of member lose faith forever.. The game plan is 2nd best every week. No player seems to be playing for the jumper..Recruiting is a disgrace and should be overlooked as well as the whole coaching staff, trainers the whole lot needs a make over, or were gana suffer for years.. Every club as advanced expect for Melbourne, even Richmond and Carlton are better off than we are!!!!

Nothing will happen until the end of the season........this story only has one outcome!

And I happen to be one of them, getting rid of ND doesnt change the fact the players arent firing. U only need to look at St Kilda to see what a bad idea it was to fire Grant Thomas, bet they regret that now. I do NOT want that to be us

1pt good fought back boys...... maybe play 4 quarters next time!!! 20mins of footy isnt good enough

That loss wasn't ND's fault, our players are absolutely woeful with their skill and committment to playing 4 quarters of football. Maybe its the coaches fault at its root but what I saw today was just shocking. A clear out is required at the club, ND should go for sure, the whole coaching staff should follow and I'd be looking to trade away players like Green, TJ, and Bruce among others. Furious at our so-called senior players.

StK had somewhere to fall. We don't.

Rubbish St Kilda were doing well there was no need a little faith was required, footy boards are too trigger happy. This is ND's worst year and everyone wants to pull the trigger, one bad year in 10 is forgivable. If next year is the same then I understand he has to go. What everyone needs to look at is the bigger picture of all the other things ND does off the field as well

4 quarters of football is all we need, gallant, but not good enough. play footy like the last quarter, every quarter and you could turn the ladder upside down right now. get rid of the passengers and start becoming leaders dees. that comment appliesto the first three quarters.

one bad year in 10, did you conveniently forget all the other odd years bar 2005? ND has to go, we are looking very stale as a footy club with him in charge, time for some fresh ideas and a real good clear out of dead-wood.

Are u conveniently forgetting we play finals more often than we dont? Trigger happy!

Losing ND would hurt us more than keeping him, we all want things to turn around

Replace ND with Scott Thompson and i agree. Things need to change you should be the one looking at the bigger picture Demon Band.

Melbourne played three quarters of the most pathetic, inept football I have ever seen.

I refuse to applaud their last quarter efforts, because I refuse to be happy about a come-from-behind almost win, when we were behind because of disgraceful football that lacked intensity and any heart.

The players need to wake up.

ND has too go simply because he can not coach well, good coaches can get teams to win close games, we never do (look at out track record)

good coaches have good game plans, we dont!

good coaches have the ability to swap their players around and they still do well

good coaches pick sides that have good players....... enough said

good coaches dont have losing streaks of 8 or 9 games

good coaches do well in finals, we dont

ND fails on all these

I agree with the fact the demons were absolutely pathetic for the first 3 quarters today. No excuses there.

What will slightly annoy me though, is that analysts will say we have got our good players back(McLean, Robbo). But the reality is, we gained them, but lost Sylvia, Whelan, Bate and Yze, so we were actually worse off.

I don't like to make excuses for us, but this is just one of those seasons we are going to have to put behind us. Get rid of the deadwood from our list and start preparing for 2008.

I am not sure if ND should be part of those plans, but either way, i still feel if our luck improves next year we will be competetive again.

I am disapointed like the rest, but your comment to trade bruce is crazy, he was best on ground today and showed how valuable he is to the side.

Our 3rd quarter is the worst ive ever seen us play

It’s Game Day, and the Demons return to the MCG wounded, undermanned and desperate. Still searching for their first win of the season, Melbourne faces a daunting task against the Fremantle Dockers. With key pillars missing at both ends of the ground, the Dees must find a way to rise above the adversity and ignite their season before it slips way beyond reach. Will today be the spark that turns it all around, or are we staring down the barrel of a 0–6 start?

  • PREVIEW: Fremantle

A month is a long time in AFL football. The proof of this is in the current state of the two teams contesting against each other early this Saturday afternoon at the MCG. It’s hard to fathom that when Melbourne and Fremantle kicked off the 2025 season, the former looked like being a major player in this year’s competition after it came close to beating one of the favourites in the GWS Giants while the latter was smashed by Geelong to the tune of 78 points and looked like rubbish. Fast forward to today and the Demons are low on confidence and appear panic stricken as their winless streak heads towards an even half dozen and pressure mounts on the coach and team leadership.  Meanwhile, the Dockers have recovered their composure and now sit in the top eight. They are definitely on the up and up and look most likely winners this weekend against a team which they have recently dominated and which struggles to find enough passages to the goals to trouble the scorers. And with that, Fremantle will head to the MCG, feeling very good about itself after demolishing Richmond in the Barossa Valley with Josh Treacy coming off a six goal haul and facing up to a Melbourne defence already without Jake Lever and a shaky Steven May needing to pass a fitness test just to make it onto the field of play.
