Lever looking unhampered in movement but Petty a little unconvincing. May has a spring in his step and looks to be gliding over the groundโ€ฆ

Next drill is a kicking drill where numerous lines from half back handball or shot kick through centre square with minimal defensive pressure. Coming into HF with quick play ons and ultimately a kick into f50 to leading forward. Clearly a focus on quicker ball movement and lowering the eyes into the forward line.ย

Maysie caught my eye again with his agility and unimpeded movementย

And theyโ€™ve locked off the grandstand for the comfort of the supporters๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿคช

Very much appreciated those of you venturing out there to let us know, its very fresh and almost chilly up here in Elwood.

If anyone can find out what's up with Jefferson, that would be great. Bit concerning he's been in rehab for a number of weeks now.

In the match sim right now. So maybe just fitness - actually I donโ€™t think itโ€™s him. One of the other tall lads Iโ€™m not familiar with #43

Blues 13 to 0. Trac gets a back half turnover and powers through -handball to outside and JVR assist to chin for a goal. This is full intensity.ย

At the appropriate time I'd appreciate any comments on the intensity and how it compares to the last few years.

ANB mark and play on goal in a similar style to Gawn in game against Geelong in PF of โ€˜21.

The goal kicking has been elite today so far. Nibbler with a mark and play on goal from 45 or so.

4.1 to 2.0

May it continue.

Brayshaw isnโ€™t wearing a helmet. Thatโ€™s the intensity. They play at full pace but not much physicality.ย

  • PREVIEW: Fremantle

The dominant storyline coming out of Round One for Saturday Nightโ€™s clash at Optus Stadium centres on the influence of the big men. The spotlight naturally falls on two elite ruckmen who, five years ago, shared the stage in Melbourneโ€™s memorable premiership triumph.

  • THE STATS FILES: St. Kilda

As part of the effort to trim the runtime of the regular podcast, weโ€™ve been looking at which segments could be reshaped without losing what makes them valuable. One segment that naturally came into focus was Binmanโ€™s Stats Files. Not because it isnโ€™t important; quite the opposite. Itโ€™s become such a substantial and much-loved part of the show that it deserves a little room to breathe.

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

One of the big stories of the AFL off-season was the spending spree of Melbourneโ€™s Round 1 opponent, St Kilda. They splashed out heavily, first to retain Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera - the hero of last yearโ€™s epic come-from-behind miracle victory -turning him into a $2 million man. They then effectively took out an expensive overdraft to recruit a string of expensive players from other clubs. It was a risky investment strategy and, although itโ€™s still early days, it certainly failed to pay off in Sundayโ€™s season opener, with much of the glitter turning to foolโ€™s gold.

  • POSTGAME: St. Kilda

Never in doubt!!! In Steven Kingโ€™s first game at the helm of the Melbourne Football Club, the Dees outlasted Saints in a wild, momentum-swinging thriller at the MCG, running out 13-point winners.
