Everybody’s most feared opponent, the hard nosed midfielder had a fantastic season. He was called upon for more minutes in the middle after Clayton Oliver’s injury and stood up to the challenge putting enormous pressure on opposing midfields.

The warhorse.

We couldn't have done close to what we did without him in 2023.

An injury free Jack Viney is a sight to behold, he played inspired footy in 2023 a real dynamo. Good luck this year Jack you deserve it.

Huge respect for this bloke after he went in and remonstrated with Maynard.

A player who has his teammate's backs.

Has been in career best form lately and we will need him firing again.

It wouldn't have been easy losing the Captaincy. Most people would have cracked the sooks or just left. Not JV. Put his head down and got on with it. Says a lot about him.

A true MFC loyalist.

The goal against Brisbane summed up his year perfectly

That was just brute force and deserved to go through the middle.

No celebrations either. Quickly got ready to play again as the job wasn't finished.

Viney's last 2 seasons in particular have been phenominal. Getting on the end of some goals, too. Really elevated in Oliver's absence this year. Just puts his body on the line, week in, week out, absolute champion!
