In my DM to Timothy R&B, I gave my answer but indicated that I couldn't work out how David Neitz fitted in. Having now belatedly realised he was also called "Neater" by some, I'm satisfied that my answer is correct, irrespective of Timothy's opinion.

I'm feeling quite Trumpian today!

Thanks to you, too, 'LDVC', for keeping this on the board. Apart from @Mazer Rackham (who would now seem to have tripped himself up! 😉) where are all our good friends*? I hope I haven't offended anyone ( @Demonstone? )

Anyway, now here am again, as a consequence, back in the unloved, sad, sorry realm of this thread, bumping it along - perhaps inevitably to bomb and crash as @Deemania since 56 may have foreshadowed - with another 🤔, about 'Neater'. Ploise exploin!

I'm happy for my actual answer to be trumped! And I'll be happy to add some Grange to the beer and bubbles, which you seem to be unsatisfied with!

Meanwhile, I've got silver and bronzeware to get rid of. Well here's another clue for you all: S. Powell-Pepper's the unlucky player.

(* Reading the 'Perception of usernames' and 'Music / grand final' threads, maybe my team's common link isn't 'The Word' for our friends?)

(And, p.s.:👍 to the 'R&B' contraction of my name!)

Roger Mellie has grabbed the silver with both hands. Well done, sir!

And, at last, Reynolds46 has grabbed the bronze, with his two mitts. Well done to you, too, sir! (gender assumption based on his(?) Homer Simpson avatar).

And now I've got a feeling I can let it be. I'll be on my way; I'm so tired. Perhaps I should have known better. Goodbye.

Nice work. I still reckon my answer was correct, though. Just not what you were looking for!

For those who care, my answer was that every person named had as either their first or last name a word otherwise used in English as a noun, adjective, etc. I struggled with Neitz until I realised he's also called "Neater".

And further for those who care (I suspect we're in an empty room, though, LDVC!) my PM'd response recognised this: "I realise that you are, in a general sense, correct, LDVC. Not trophy-worthy yet, but keep going...". Song titles, pretty much by definition, are going to use actual words (though not sure that will hold true for the genres under discussion in a couple of other threads atm! (apologies @WalkingCivilWar and others, whose interests and knowledge impress me no end 😊))

Anyway, credit where credit is due, and a Merit Badge speeds its way to you, LDVC.

(p.s. Apologies for likely confusion in my earlier post, with references to Mazer and various drinks. I had conflated our PM convo with one I was having with Mazer at the same time. D'Oh!)

  • AFLW REPORT: Port Adelaide

Well, that was a shock. The Demons 4-game unbeaten run came to a grinding halt in a tense, scrappy affair at the sunny, windy Alberton Oval, with the Power holding on for a 2-point win. The Dees had their chances—plenty of them—but couldn't convert when it mattered most. Port’s tackling pressure rattled the Dees, triggering a fumble frenzy and surprising lack of composure from seasoned players.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Port Adelaide

The undefeated Demons venture across the continent to the spiritual home of the Port Adelaide Football Club on Saturday afternoon for the inaugural match for premiership points between these long-historied clubs. Alberton Oval will however, be a ground familiar to our players following a practice match there last year. We lost both the game and Liv Purcell, who missed 7 home and away matches after suffering facial fractures in the dying moments of the game.

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmy’s inclusive banner—"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwood’s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.

  • CASEY: Frankston

The late-season run of Casey wins was broken in their first semifinal against Frankston in a heartbreaking end at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday night that in many respects reflected their entire season. When they were bad, they committed all of the football transgressions, including poor disposal, indiscipline, an inability to exert pressure, and some terrible decision-making, as exemplified by the period in the game when they conceded nine unanswered goals from early in the second quarter until halfway through the third term. You rarely win when you do this.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.
