On type he is what we are looking for, in so far as he happily hits packs, jumps into them, snarls around inside them and all that fun stuff that stops opponents from getting nice clean intercept marks and rebounds.

Obviously there is a question on pure quality though. Ticking along at one goal a game isn't hugely inspiring. Is 195cm tall enough these days?

The question is, do we need a tall target who is top-shelf, or do we need one who plays the role that will bring our small forwards and pressure game to full effect?

We'd be able to offer him better career prospects than GWS has, given our needs, and he has shown interest in a return to Victoria in the past.

So the perennial question is; What would it take to get him and would he be worth it?

I was keen a few years back after he kicked four goals in a game.  But he doesnt seem to have done much since then in a team that has needed tall forwards.  Is he really an improvement on Weid?

Burst onto the scene and then stalled since. No improvement on Weid IMO. Neither is Corbett. Hopefully there are other tall forward options available, as the ones spoken about thus far are worse than Weid and wouldn't even make our 22!

Did have a 6 game patch mid season where he kicked 11.3 goals but as others have mentioned, has stalled since his impressive 2020.

He's also kicked 26.21 so isn't exactly the dead eye Richard that we're craving.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.
