Remember this time last year when a lot of people on here were suggesting we make trades around getting future picks because "Next year's draft is apparently meant to be loaded" and now it's suddenly a 'shallow' draft and later picks are trash? 😆

This year’s early top 10

1. Harley Reid 186cm Utility (Bendigo Pioneers)
2. Jed Walter 194cm key position forward (Suns Academy / Allies)
3. Daniel Curtin - 195cm key position defender (Claremont)
4. Ashton Moir 186cm forward (Glenelg)
5. Nick Watson 169cm small forward (Eastern Rangers)
6. Zane Duursma 188cm forward (Gippsland Power)
7. Archer Reid 201cm key forward (Gippsland Power)
8. Jack Delean 181cm small forward (South Adelaide)
9. Nathan Philactides 180cm defender (Oakleigh Chargers)
10. Mitchell Edwards 205cm ruckman (Peel Thunder)

Happy with that and now working on my 2024 list.

From media reports, looks like

1-Eagles  Harley Reid

2- Suns (Academy match)  Jed Walter

3-Kangas  Coby Mckercher

4- Kangas (Mckay gift compensation 🤬) Daniel Curtin

5- Hawks  Zane Duursma

6- Bulldogs (trade from Suns) Ryley Sanders

7- Dees … options left would be … bid on Ethan Read (Suns to match) … then choice of Caddy, Watson, Wilson or O’Sullivan.  Right now I’d be picking Darcy Wilson as a running creative goalkicking mid.

Love to see how we can grab that Suns pick.

Very happy with Windsor. Would have grabbed Darcy Wilson ahead of the Kolt but can see why JT opted for the Kolt.  Got something about him.  Just needs the year to develop his footy more.

Class of 23 is very strong.  Class of 24 is as good or better in my view.

Good list.

I’d definitely be recommending these guys at later 2nd/3rd BUY orders … Hardeman at 30 (steal) , Freijah at 32 (bargain) George Stevens at 39 (slider) and Archie Roberts at 47 (call his number quickly).

Joel Freijah having an excellent year at the dogs. Pick 45 last year !! 29 possessions v Kangas in his 11th game. Was tipped to be top 15 at start of 2023 however somehow dropped after a solid 2023.  Was strange that he was overlooked all the way until picked at 45. Recruiters must have lost his draft notes 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔

Logan Morris is a very special player imv … best available key forward in the draft

playing style?  Think Nick Larkey type

Good lead  Good mark  Good kick  Solidly built

Dees /JT unfortunately are unlikely to consider given we have JVR Jefferson and converting Petty to a key forward.  If we’d not picked Jefferson last year, I’d be putting Morris on the top 6-7 players on JTs list for the 2023 draft

No surprise at all to see Logan Morris play well in today’s GF for Lions.  In last years under 18s, I thought he showed talent as a natural forward.  Good mark.  Good kick.  Bit of natural aggression.  Oh well!!

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.
