Really pleasing to see Ramanauskas back playing footy again. Hope he goes well, but that his team still loses

Neaves is giving away about 7cm in the ruck though.lol. Mckinnon at 206cm and freakishly agile whereas Neaves is shorter but plays more bash n crash. should be interesting.

IS that Travis Johnstons name on sandys HF line?

Sorry I have no idea?

Yep, I'd take that. I'd give up a Bendigo win for Rama to get through unscathed.

Good luck to Rama.

If he comes through it might be one of the few good news stories this year in football.

And we need them in spades.

Good to see rama back playing footy. I wish him the best, but hope the zebras give them a beating.

Will heath Neville make the cut on the bench for the zebras 1sts? I hope he gets a chance this year without his op flaring up.

Still no sylvia? I hope he is just being rested for security. Last time i heard he was being tested on his thigh so he isnt far away!

I've added the reserves team to the introductory post. It's just been announced.

Isaac Weetra makes his debut after a couple of hamstring injuries. He's a delightful young bloke and we wish him luck!

It would also be remiss of me not to mention the return to football of Adam Ramanauskas who will play his first game of football in two years when he lines up for Bendigo in the VFL this weekend. Since breaking down with a knee injury in early 2005 he has missed a lot of footy and was recently placed on the Bomber’s rookie list after ongoing battles with cancer over a three year period.

I think I speak for everyone at Melbourne and Sandringham and all at Demonland in wishing him a safe return to the game on Sunday.

Good luck!

Indeed. All of his courage and hard-work to get back onto the field is really inspirational. Despite all the negative publicity footballers have been receiving lately, Rama is certainly a good role-model for not only aspiring footballers, but anyone who is going through adversity. Hopefully he makes it back into the Essendon side very soon and plays the rest of his career without any more health dramas.

Looking forward to hearing about Weetra's game.

congrats to rama and hope he can get his footy career back.

great to see weetra get a game aswell

Well said Jaded......

And congratulations to Adam on showing so much courage in the face of adversity, and for making his way back to where he wants to be.

Good luck (he could do with some) to him for his future both on and off the field :)

  • REPORT: Fremantle

For this year’s Easter Saturday game at the MCG, Simon Goodwin and his Demons wound the clock back a few years to wipe out the horrible memories of last season’s twin thrashings at the hands of the Dockers. And it was about time! Melbourne’s indomitable skipper Max Gawn put in a mammoth performance in shutting out his immediate opponent Sean Darcy in the ruck and around the ground and was a colossus at the end when the game was there to be won or lost. It was won by 16.11.107 to 14.13.97. There was the battery-charged Easter Bunny in Kysaiah Pickett running anyone wearing purple ragged, whether at midfield stoppages or around the big sticks. He finish with a five goal haul.

  • CASEY: UWS Giants

The Casey Demons took on an undefeated UWS Giants outfit at their own home ground on a beautiful autumn day but found themselves completely out of their depth going down by 53 points against a well-drilled and fair superior combination. Despite having 15 AFL listed players at their disposal - far more than in their earlier matches this season - the Demons were never really in the game and suffered their second defeat in a row after their bright start to the season when they drew with the Kangaroos, beat the Suns and matched the Cats for most of the day on their own dung heap at Corio Bay. The Giants were a different proposition altogether. They had a very slight wind advantage in the opening quarter but were too quick off the mark for the Demons, tearing the game apart by the half way mark of the term when they kicked the first five goals with clean and direct football.

A undermanned Dees showed some heart and desperation to put the Fremantle Dockers to the sword as they claimed their first victory for the season winning by 10 points at the MCG.
