And now for some good news.  From humble beginnings, the podcast has grown and now the true believers have helped raised $25,000 to help fight the beast.
Well done to Zurich, Gus and Max, and Bec Daniher is a star.

The ‘Friends of the Podcast’ t-shirts – a nod to Max Gawn and Angus Brayshaw’s weekly segment – were a hit with Dees fans; the exclusive batch selling out in its entirety.

Linda Griffin, Head of Brand, Marketing and Corporate Affairs at Zurich Australia and New Zealand, said the collaboration was a great way to further Zurich’s support.

“Joining forces with the Gus & Gawny podcast has allowed us to increase our donation to $25,000 - what an incredible example of two partners working together to make a bigger impact as a team,” Griffin said.

With Big Freeze 8 just around the corner, Gawn and Brayshaw were on hand on Wednesday to present the cheque to FightMND’s Bec Daniher, on behalf of Zurich.

The sizable donation will continue the great progress made in search for a cure.

Hats off to Gawny, Gus & the club for pushing this great cause in the podcast etc.  The reverend would be pretty chuffed i reckon!

I never miss the Gus & Gawny podcast, two great leaders of our club and what a great effort from Zurich,  the boys and the podcast supporters. Top effort everyone involved.❤️💙💕

I bought one of these.  Great cause.  Very happy with the T.

Credit to the Demon shop - it arrived within 3 days of order.

Sadly, I can't wear it to the MND game as I'm attending a luncheon for my Collingwood supporting sister's birthday but I look forward to proudly wearing it there and keep fingers crossed we win.❤️💙

Our thoughts and prayers, Luci. 😞

I started reading and thought it was going to say Gus and Gawny help fight Melksham and I nearly had a panic attack.

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
