I remember a day at Moorabin in their swamp when he got caught holding the ball.
It was significant 'cause it never ever happened before.
Was the beginning of the end as far as I'm concerned and let me know the champ must be slowing down.

Brownlow is one thing. But we as a club only gave him one best and fairest. Look at the players who won over Flower, Steven Smith, Steven Icke,

Well aware of all the greatness of R Flower

For some reason The Umpires never voted him high enough

We will never know.
But one of the main reasons i take little notice of The Brownlow.
I mean let’s be honest, KB was another who was crucified on Brownlow night

Interesting virtually every player in the GOAT conversation other than Ablett Jr didn’t win a Brownlow.

As for not winning more B&F’s he explained that he missed games nearly every season and once you missed a couple of games it was very hard to win one.

as for the comparisons with some of our present greats – almost impossible, and I say that as a huge fan of  Oliver. Do we really have to choose between them?

When we drafted Oliver 6 seasons ago if anybody said we would ever be discussing him in the same sentence as Flower I would have told them where to go.

Now I think it's warranted.

I remember one year he blasted out in front of the Brownlow count but missed about 6games late in the season.
And that was that.

I'd just go to watch him play, win the ball, and the rest was magic; and we would look at each other with just being able to keep that bit of still time to ourselves..

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
