I believe there's another potential member of this group on our list, but he's yet to play a game for Melbourne.

And there's a member of the current Geelong team who played last weekend who could get a game in this side, too.

...and in the spirit of DS's last post, let's out them now, eh guys?

Majak Daw. Jed Bews.

...And Mazer snares the bronze! Sooo...

Hey, 'the rest', get the 'tether' yet?

They can play at Windy Hill but not on the oval. They can play footy but not with a Sherrin or Faulkner.

...and yet, any ball will do.

I’m embarrassed to say that despite this flurry of clues I still don’t get it. Please @Timothy Reddan-A'Blew, just spill the damn beans already.

My apologies putting you through that, WCW. You sound close to becoming WUW!.

Uniquely - with the how-did-I-forget-him Stephen Febey - all the players in the squad have only a single vowel doing vowel duty in their names. Have a look back at the italicised bits of my posts (and at my "Of sorts" reply to you😉)

A word-based team, as opposed to a categories-based one was inspired by your anagram one. I had to do something to get me back on track after my own 'just spill the damn beans!' moment!😄

  • PREVIEW: Essendon

Not long ago, the narrative surrounding Melbourne was steeped in pessimism. There was some concern among the pundits (and even some fans) that the club would arrive at the AFL’s Gather Round still winless, vulnerable to a familiar adversary in the Essendon Football Club, and facing significant scrutiny from an ever-critical media on a national stage. Things have changed.

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

Steven King astutely identified the issues that had plagued the Melbourne Football Club over the past two and a half seasons when he auditioned for the newly created coaching role. The side that had claimed the 2021 premiership had become stodgy, slow-paced, and hesitant to take the initiative.
