Given we had an early quiz last week and it seems so long until the Hawthorn game, I've snuck in an extra brainteaser for today.

It's a very easy one and won't last very long, I wouldn't think.

As usual, it's a team from the backline and in position, and a very strong side that would take some beating.

What do they all have in common?

B:  Dougal Howard   Tom Stewart   Bailey Dale

H/B:  Caleb Daniel   Aaron Francis   Jack Steele

C:  Josh Kelly   Clayton Oliver   Mitch Duncan

H/F:  Gary Rohan   Oscar Allen   Jamie Elliott

F:  Josh Bruce   Jeremy Cameron   Liam Ryan

R:  Rhys Stanley   Lachie Neale   Dustin Martin

I/C:  Tom Mitchell   Ryan Lester   Sebastian Ross   Josh Thomas.

COACH:  Chris Scott

Lots of Christian names

Well that didn't take long!  All the players have two first names, of course.

For their efforts, ManDee and defuture15 win ownership of another team I came up with but didn't want to put up as a quiz because it would be even easier than this one.

Behold the very colourful Rainbow Raiders!  I hope you like the centreline tribute to our disco/clash jumper.

B:  Graham Moss   Matthew Scarlett   Robert Teal

H/B:  Lachie Ash   Randall Bone   Luke Lavender

C:  Jack Redden   Brian Royal   Russell Blew

H/F:  Jarrod Berry   Jonathon Brown   Robbie Gray

F:  Brad Green   Paul Salmon   Arthur Pink

R:  Jeff White   Simon Black   Bobby Rose

I/C:  Robert Lemon   Neville Stone   Jim Flint   Ron Birch

This team was for entertainment (showing off) only as I thought it self-evident that they are all colours and therefore didn't set it as a teaser.

Apparently Joel Corey’s teammates nicknamed him “Smith” coz he needed a surname.

Looked at your avatar Demonstone, and thought someone was trying to shoot a rocket up your kazoo. Then noticed everyone now has a rocket. Do we all need to lift our game?

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
