I hate it when we are favourites.....

Get used to it WWS. We have been underrated coming into the season. We will be favourites for probably 6 of the next 8 games all going well

Time for the club to put this mentality to bed once and for all

Agree, the club is going to get plenty of chances this season to play in must win matches and this is one of them. No excuses we just have to win this week.

Yep, that is why we need to be 8-2 if we are serious this year. After Tigers we have an easy run

I hear you. However after the bulldogs pratice match, our injuries and skill errors against freo....Im happy to believe we are in finals contention at all.

I know this may not sound too positive but if beat gws then I think we may make finals.

If we beat cats as well then i know we will.

Things are looking a lot more interesting with Tmac and Salem of old. Anb and Spargo much improved. Jones played well. New talent in Jordan, kozzie and Jackson.

Viney free from injury and Oliver and Trac and Langdon reaching new heights.

Despite a few dropped marks I still think our backline is one of the best now being led by Tomlison of all defenders.

Yeah, I dunno wsw.  I've always found such juvenile nicknames (eg. Port Adelaide Pear, West Coke, Essendrug etc) really tedious and childish.  It's the sort of thing you'd expect from the immature teens on BigFooty.

Oh! 100% - it makes no sense to me, it was one of the weirdest things I noticed when I first joined this forum. Do these people actually talk like this when they are discussing football at the pub? Because, that would just be weird.

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
