With some apologies but I always thought Brad was our Corey Mckernan, was capable of so much, and had some truly stellar moments, but when I look at the whole of his career I wanted more. That said a good servant of the club, and I’m not worthy to tie his shoelaces.

It’s not getting any easier !!

Somehow it seems unfair that Greeny is pitted against Gary Lyon who was one of our greats as Gary could have been even greater if he didn't carry a debilitating back. This cost him his best football in his twilight.

However Brad Green was no slouch as a player as he was classy enough. Could play up the ground but was more effective near the goals. Unfortunately captaining a hack side  didn't help his reputation. Kicked 55 goals in 2010 and was stiff not to make all Australian.

Gary for mine.

Garry scored more goals, more all aussies, hall of fame and team of the century. He was a dynamic and courageous leader who could be potent in several positions.

Brad was a champion, durable and dynamic at times but never rose to the levels of Garry.

Lyon for me.

It’s been a season of grit, growth, and glimpses of brilliance—mixed with a few tough interstate lessons. Now, with finals looming, the Dees head to Kardinia Park for one last tune-up before the real stuff begins.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
