Never really found many places that I liked that showed the games with volume up here in the fun free city, but I’ve just taken over as licensee of the Botany View in Newtown so if any Sydney based dee’s fans ever want to watch our beloveds I’ll always have at least one section of the pub with the game on and volume. Let yourself known to me and I’ll quite possibly help you out with some tasty snacks as well to wash the bevvies down ??

I have one coming in soon, only took over 10 days ago. Currently Mumm and some local bubbles, moving to Lanson and some ripping west Australian offerings in the very near future.

I’ll supply the towels if we are thinking some celebratory bottle shakings. Don’t aim for the tvs ok??

Hey, I’ll get along at some stage for sure - that’s a great pub. And if you’re after a band to play there, my band Los Romeos Oxidados are always up for a gig; we have regular gigs at the Gasoline Pony and Butchers Brew and are playing the Marrickville Bowlo at the end of March.

I’m not often in Newtown but I will try and get there for a game or two during the season. What’s the chicken Parma like?

Yep. Yep. Yep, yep, yep, yep.  Yep.

I've been in Sydney for years now and the thought had crossed my mind that the only way to get a good place to watch AFL would be to run it myself.  So, kudos to you for doing it and I'll surely see you there!

Do you guys know about the NSW Demons. They have organised watching every Demons game at the Cammie in Redfern and other venues before that going back to the pre Foxtel days. You should contact them and offer some incentives for Dees supporters to go there. Getting Hardtrack’s band to play the song pre game could be a clincher. I intend to get to one of his gigs so put him in some time. I’ll be there.

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
