Gee I hope we haven't thrown Vandenberg in the deep end too early again.

Remember last year he played against Collingwood and then was done for the year.

It’s very hard to shake these kind of concerns, isn’t it. We just have to put our faith in those deciding these sort of things. Which is a whole other concern ??

I hope he only plays a half at most.

There's a good thread on Kayo.

It works well if you have download speeds of 10-15 Mbs. Because it's live sport it needs a little more speed than Netflix that uses buffering.

It also works very well overseas if used with a VPN.

The difference between the standard and premium ($25 and $35) is simply 2 versus three devices at once.

The biggest drawback is that if Channel 7 is covering a game you will get their feed and commentary with ads during the match. I had hoped to say goodbye to Bruce and co.

Cricket coverage is topnotch as is tennis and F1 if you're into it.The replay system is great.

I use an nvidia stream as my box but there are multiple alternatives.

Finally it has no fixed contract so if you only want it for the football season remembering that all finals are FTA and therefore coverage is identical you can cancel at your convenience. Overall a very good product.

To add to this, if you watch Kayo via an Apple TV or even through a web browser is the ability to multiple games playing at same time, something that you can't achieve with Foxtel. I'll regularly have an AFL game with a NRL game at the same time being played with my TV split.

A mate told me a fella he works with has a work around to address that issue, possibly some plug in or the like so you got the foxtel stream not the 7 one.

He was gonna to get more info and let me know.

Really? I just have the AFL app free with my Telstra account, but are you saying if I paid extra they’d lift the restriction on screen-mirroring?

Missed this sorry.. No, Telstra only has the AFL contract for mobile phone size, can't remember the specs, but is why you won't see it big enough to fill an iPad, etc... they can not allow their feed to resize to anything larger.

  • PREVIEW: St. Kilda

It seems like only yesterday that these two sides faced off against each other in the centre of the continent. It was when Melbourne was experiencing a rare period of success with five wins from its previous six matches including victories over both of last year’s grand finalists.  Well, it wasn’t yesterday but it was early last month and it remains etched clearly in the memory. The Saints were going through a slump and the predicted outcome of their encounter at TIO Traeger Park was a virtual no-brainer. A Melbourne victory and another step closer to a possible rise into finals contention. Something that was unthinkable after opening the season with five straight defeats.

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.
