Picket, I reluctantly have to agree in fact I have writtwn a new club song which is more appropriate to our current situation. Coincidentally the original, She Loves You  was written by the Beatles  about the same time Melbourne enjoyed any real success

They’ve lost another game, the eighth one for the year.

There’s nothing left to do, but to have another beer.

Because they’re lazy and they do not give a stuff .Yeah Yeah Yeah

They’re lazy and they don’t try hard enough Yeah

He said you’re crazy, you’re just another fan Yeah Yeah Yeah

We’re not lazy I’ve got a new team plan Yeah

I cried I’m crazy Yeah Yeah Yeah I’m crazy Yeah Yeah Yeah

Players lazy. Don't give a stuff? You have to be joking. You , Picket Fence and other haters  go and watch some other sport..

the absurd aspect is that if Weideman's kick had been a goal none of you knockers  would have bern writing the crap you now are.

every player tried his guts out, every player was bitterly hurt. When Melbourne was easily the best ream in 1955, they kicked  5.15 then 6.16 then 8.18. Surprisingly enough  they lost all three matches. It happens to every team from time to time.

Agree on most, but thought Brayshaw & Petracca were ok. Harmes should've kicked that goal needs more composure.Someone needs to tell Hunt to slow down a couple of strides when on the run he'd be less eratic.

Nice trip down memory lane Farmer.

However It’s now 2019 some 63 years later, the skill levels are far superior & we as a club kick for goal like the little league. It’s completely unacceptable & has put us under enormous pressure.  We should of beaten West Coast & Adelaide however due to basic kicking errors we didn’t.

Weideman didn’t kick that simple goal from 20 metres out directly in front & we as long suffering supporters & The MFC are now in an even bigger world of pain.

Strangely I have seen enough this season in a couple of games to suggest we can & will make a big Statement in the second half of 2019. To think Geelong sits on top at the halfway mark makes me want to vomit.

  • PREVIEW: Port Adelaide

With both sides precariously positioned ahead of the run home to the finals, only one team involved in Sunday’s clash at the Adelaide Oval between the Power and the Demons will remain a contender when it’s over.  On current form, that one team has to be Melbourne which narrowly missed out on defeating the competition’s power house Collingwood on King's Birthday and also recently overpowered both 2024 Grand Finalists. Conversely, Port Adelaide snapped out of a four-game losing streak with a win against the Giants in Canberra. Although they will be rejuvenated following that victory, their performances during that run of losses were sub par and resulted in some embarrassing blow out defeats.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

The media focus on the fiery interaction between Max Gawn and Steven May at the end of the game was unfortunate because it took away the gloss from Melbourne’s performance in winning almost everywhere but on the scoreboard in its Kings Birthday clash with Collingwood at the MCG. It was a real battle reminiscent of the good old days when the rivalry between the two clubs was at its height and a fitting contest to celebrate the 2025 Australian of the Year, Neale Daniher and his superb work to bring the campaign to raise funds for motor neurone disease awareness to the forefront. Notwithstanding the fact that the Magpies snatched a one point victory from his old club, Daniher would be proud of the fact that his Demons fought tooth and nail to win the keenly contested game in front of 77,761 fans.

  • PREGAME: Port Adelaide

The Demons are set to embark on a four-week road trip that takes them across the country, with two games in Adelaide and a clash on the Gold Coast, broken up by a mid-season bye. Next up is a meeting with the inconsistent Port Adelaide at Adelaide Oval. Who comes in and who goes out?

  • POSTGAME: Collingwood

Despite effectively playing against four extra opponents, the Dees controlled much of the match. However, their inaccuracy in front of goal and inability to convert dominance in clearances and inside 50s ultimately cost them dearly, falling to a heartbreaking one-point loss on King’s Birthday.
