Ah, Clarry Choo Choo!??

Great great player, but just doesn’t  strike me as a leader. And if we don’t have success over the next couple of years other clubs will be circling like flies around the proverbial

Yes so whats not to like about him ?? Leads from the front typical leader , If the club overloooks him THEN the crows will be circling!

Happy to lead the Clarry Choo Choo for VC honours!!

A vacancy will be created when Jones decides to step down & my thoughts are that wont be happening too soon. Maxy is the obvious choice to step in as VC or joint captain with Jack......

Tom McDonald continues to impress, off the field & would come into some form of contention.

From all reports Lever is held in a much higher regard than Brayshaw, & if he can stay injury free, then he may hold down a role but maybe 3 or 4 years away....

Tmac ?

You'd have someone who seem incapable of tackling...as a captain of any sort

A no for me.

Couldn't disagree more.

If there's been one consistent failing of this club since 2006, it's been our lack of leadership from within the playing group.

This^

I'd add the new rules with runners has added to our woes. We don't have the on field leaders to make up for the loss of communications/marshalling/instructions from the runners (until Lewis is back anyway).

That's a strange comment considering that one of our current captains has had 1 & 2 tackles in last 2 games. Leadership extends beyond the footy field & Tom has proven quite literate & honest in front of the camera......instead of talking & promising [censored].

A yes for me.

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

One of the big stories of the AFL off-season was the spending spree of Melbourne’s Round 1 opponent, St Kilda. They splashed out heavily, first to retain Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera - the hero of last year’s epic come-from-behind miracle victory -turning him into a $2 million man. They then effectively took out an expensive overdraft to recruit a string of expensive players from other clubs. It was a risky investment strategy and, although it’s still early days, it certainly failed to pay off in Sunday’s season opener, with much of the glitter turning to fool’s gold.
