That was marvellous I agree. Certainly worth a listen The lead up to the interview and the list of departed demons was very moving.

Sam is a class act.  Loved the part about her back in Jimmy's playing days kissing in the middle of the MCG after everyone had gone.  Whilst the failures of the administration he lead are well acknowledged, I always admired and respected the passion and contribution of Jimmy during this time.  As Garry Lyon says in the intro - "as he was fighting for his life, he was fighting for the footy club".  Tanking saga and Mark Neeld asides, the things I think Jimmy did offer the club which it so desperately needed were passion, positivity and beleif.  I recon Jimmy would have loved to have had PJ as CEO and Roos as coach.

How about Sam's parting admission though - had booked the trip to Bali thinking we weren't going to be playing finals, lol (Bali, the new going to the snow for the modern MFC supporter).

Making and winning finals is one thing, but I'm really looking forward to winning a premiership before we unleash the proper celibrations and acknowledgements though.

Sam and Jim have a son who is playing footy locally and hopefully can get to AFL standard and play for his dad's club.

Great to see the family enjoying the Dees' improvement.

I was glad to hear that they were at the game and also that Sam and Jim's daughter will be presenting the Jim Stynes Award at the Brownlow again this year - very special.

The Demons return to town fresh off a thumping win over the back-to-back wooden spooners, the West Coast Eagles, played in front of a sparse crowd at Marvel Stadium, the same venue that hosted last week's heartbreaking loss.

  • PREVIEW: West Coast

It was bad enough that the Melbourne Football Club created yet another humiliating scenario inside its wretched season at Marvel Stadium last Sunday, but the final insult is that it has been commanded to return to the scene of the crime to inflict further punishment on its fans this week. Incidentally, if this match preview, of a game that promises to be one of the most unattractive fixtures in the history of the game, happens to cut out of your computer screen three quarters of the way through, it’s no coincidence. I’ll be mirroring the Demons’ lacklustre effort against St Kilda from last Sunday when they conceded the largest last quarter turnaround for victory in the history of the game.

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

When looking back at the disastrous end to the game, I find it a waste of time to concentrate on the final few moments when utter confusion reigned. Forget the 6-6-6 mess, the failure to mark the most dangerous man on the field, the inability to seal the game when opportunities presented themselves to Clayton Oliver, Harry Petty and Charlie Spargo, the vision of match winning players of recent weeks in Kozzy Pickett and Jake Melksham spending helpless minutes on the interchange bench and the powerlessness of seizing the opportunity to slow the tempo of the game down in those final moments.
