Injury Lists

Had a look at the injury columns of all the sides yesterday and noted that the top sides had fewer season ending injuries than the bottom 8. You look at the Dockers, Carlton and Gold Coast lists and they have been decimated.

Any thoughts on why that might be the case because it certainly intrigues me.

Perhaps they know they’re not going to make the 8 so they send players away early for surgery so they’re good to go prior to pre-season.

I read an article not long ago, that I’m struggling to find, which related to Carlton’s excessive injury list at the start of the season. They had ‘experts’ come in and conduct an examination as to why they were so badly hit. I shall post if I find it. Part of the findings though( from memory) was age of the players (under 25 more likely to be injured) and lack of stamina (apparently more likely to be injured).

Exactly the reasons why those sides shouldn't be getting priority picks. They would have had better seasons if it was not for the injuries.
