I've got my NBA tip worked out ... either a Sunday AEDT game or a Monday AEDT game.   Might wait until you fellas ( @Wadda We Sing  @Dee Zephyr ) have posted up your 'bests'.  Or @binman  if you are interested in chiming in.

n.b.  the exotic odds for NBA games are often not available until the early evening (AEDT) for games played on the following morning/afternoon (again,  AEDT)  My 'best' will almost certainly be a 'wire-to-wire' result.

Best Bet:

Italia serie A

Parma V Napoli

Napoli win and under -3.5        $2.15

Monday Special

NHL Monday at 11:00

Minnesota Wild v St Louis Blues

Line Bet - St Louis Blues -1.5 $3.80

Monday Special ... n.b this particular bet may not be available until late arvo today or perhaps the early evening.  The dividend should be around about 2.20 (give or take 0.10 - 0.20)

NBA Monday 11.30am

$2.20 San Antonio (wire to wire*) @ New York Knicks

* 'wire to wire' means leading at every change.

And here are the other 2 specials ...

My selection still isn't available Wadda so I'll leave it up to you (and others) to throw in a substitute as you see fit (if it doesn't appear soon)

That's the trouble with the American sports ... certain games are sometimes not available.

Best Bet:

Napoli Win +2.5 goals v Juventus  $4.20

Nice pick, the Darby over in Merseyside, always produces some goals

Looks a no-brainer Wadda, doesn't it ?

Saturday overnight I've been having a couple of multi's based on the English Championship,  League 1 & League 2 ... just 3picks but there is some very good value to be had in those leagues.  Anywhere from 15-1 up to 50-1 based on the Win/+2.5 match goals rule-of-thumb.

Spurs/Gunners tonight (11pm on SBS) could provide a few goals as well although either team can win.

I reckon both teams are overs on the Win/+2.5 ... Juve are 5.50 so I have done the 'saver' multi with Liverpool & Atletico.  The combined odds are just too tempting Wadda even though I do like your Napoli selection.  I also like @Dee Zephyr 's selection with Atletico ... good value all round really.

The same theory has been working for me on the horses with the saver option.  It's really only feasible if both odds are deemed as overs.  There will be goals in this match you'd reckon.

Meanwhile,  our Demons have had a good hit-out in oppressive conditions.  We've got a number of good players missing but we've taken it right up to the Tiges.

Well at least your selection got up Wadda ... Rugby League kicks off this week and the SuperRugby is in full swing now so we've got a wider choice apart from Soccer.  And then the footy starts the following weekend.

I will briefly document my experiences with Ladbrokes yesterday. Even just so i can remember it.

It was 10 mins before the All Star Mile yesterday. I attempted to place a 4 leg Multi with the first leg being Mystic Journey in that race. The three subsequent legs were Fifty Stars and two others win place. I placed the bet on my computer which was accepted, confirmed and done. I thought nothing more of it until 5 mins before the race i noticed my balance had remained the same. So i went to check the bet, and it was not in my pending bets list. I then (slightly panicking) attempted to place the bet again, half thinking maybe its in the system but there is some sort of lag? I repeated the exercise and the same thing happened. The bet was accepted and the balance remained the same and the multi was not listed. It was now 1 min before the jump, i thought about calling but thought no i will quickly do it again, thinking it must be in the system, i just cant see it.

Again i placed the bet and again the balance didnt change and the bet was not listed. Thinking now that i most likely had 3 multis exactly the same on i thought well lets see as it was a win bet. It of course won. So then i started the long process of trying to explain to Ladbrokes and find the right person to talk to. 3 times i tried and was passed from section to section with the call dropping out each time i was transferred. (you know how infuriating that is). I finally got told there was no record of the bets and that there was nothing they could do.

Then Fifty Stars won its race (which i missed) but was aware of the result. So not one to give up easily and feeling confident i had an argument, i rang through again. Finally got through to a woman higher up the chain who said she would get to the bottom of it and had their tech team look into it. I was discovered that the price of Mystic Journey was wildly fluctuating for 10 mins before the race. What was happening was because it was a multi it was taking slightly longer to process and thus there were price changes whilst the bet was being calculated. Therefore even though the bet was (accepted) it was not processed. I pointed out there was no alert system for this and they agreed. They then offered me a $50 dollar bonus bet which i accepted as there were still 2 legs of the multi to run. The next leg was Binmans best Mastering Race 9 which ran 3rd and it was a win bet.

So the multi didnt come off anyway and it was a small amount so it would have paid only 120 or so. However i still got a payout.

Happy ending.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.

  • CASEY: Williamstown

The Casey Demons issued a strong statement to the remaining teams in the VFL race with a thumping 76-point victory in their Elimination Final against Williamstown. This was the sixth consecutive win for the Demons, who stormed into the finals from a long way back with scalps including two of the teams still in flag contention. Senior Coach Taylor Whitford would have been delighted with the manner in which his team opened its finals campaign with high impact after securing the lead early in the game when Jai Culley delivered a precise pass to a lead from Noah Yze, who scored his first of seven straight goals for the day. Yze kicked his second on the quarter time siren, by which time the Demons were already in control. The youngster repeated the dose in the second term as the Seagulls were reduced to mere

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Collingwood

Narrm time isn’t a standard concept—it’s the time within the traditional lands of Narrm, the Woiwurrung name for Melbourne. Indigenous Round runs for rounds 3 and 4 and is a powerful platform to recognise the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in sport, community, and Australian culture. This week, suburban footy returns to the infamous Victoria Park as the mighty Narrm take on the Collingwood Magpies at 1:05pm Narrm time, Sunday 31 August. Come along if you can.

  • AFLW REPORT: St. Kilda

The Dees demolished the Saints in a comprehensive 74-pointshellacking.  We filled our boots with percentage — now a whopping 520.7% — and sit atop the AFLW ladder. Melbourne’s game plan is on fire, and the competition is officially on notice.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

It was yet another disappointing outcome in a disappointing year, with Melbourne missing the finals for the second consecutive season. Indeed, it wasn’t even close, as the Demons' tally of seven wins was less than half the number required to rank among the top eight teams in the competition. When the dust of the game settled and supporters reflected on Melbourne's  six-point defeat at the hands of close game specialists Collingwood, Max Gawn's words about his team’s unfulfilled potential rang true … well, almost.
