Scharenberg is now in for his 3rd ACL and I doubt there is any hamstring tendon left to use as a graft. Nic Nat for a 2nd time and all to simple leg movements not unlike Lever. I am surprised there hasn't been a greater deveopment with the carbon fibre grafts given there have been so many repeat ACL injuries

    Didn't Nic Nat and Lever both do their good knees?

    Not sure with Nic Nat but Lever re injured the knee previously operate on. This link to a YouTube video explains why it takes 10 months min to heal and strengthen

    Slightly off topic, but watching Scharenberg's knee just buckle on him was quite heartbreaking to be honest.  When they slow the replay down, you can see through his skin how his knee just exploded on him.  I still hate Collingwood, but it's never a nice thing to see a young player, any player, cut down by injury.

    I heard an interview with the American sports science guy who did Trac's recovery. He was one of the world's leaders in that stuff, and he pretty much said that a lot of people focus on "getting back", but that getting back quickly almost always results in minor or major recurrence of the injury down the line.

    The exercises that Petracca did during his rehab were designed by this guy, and supposedly were focused on long-term strength and "going the journey" in the sport. Considering Tracs knees seem fine, I hope Lever's doing the same stuff. Lever's a lightweight compared to Petracca, so whatever works for Trac's knees will surely work for Lever's too.

      The fans who turned up to the MCG for Melbourne’s Anzac Day Eve clash against Richmond would have been disappointed if they turned up to see a great spectacle. As much as this was a night for the 71,635 in attendance to commemorate heroes of the nation’s past wars, it was also a time for the Melbourne Football Club to consolidate upon its first win after a horrific start to the 2025 season. On this basis, despite the fact that it was an uninspiring and dour struggle for most of its 100 minutes, the night will be one for the fans to remember. They certainly got value out of the pre match activity honouring those who fought for their country. The MCG and the lights of the city as backdrop was made for nights such as these and, in my view, we received a more inspirational ceremony of Anzac culture than others both here and elsewhere around the country.

      The match up of teams competing in our great Aussie game at its second highest level is a rarity for a work day Thursday morning but the blustery conditions that met the players at a windswept Casey Fields was something far more commonplace.They turned the opening stanza between the Casey Demons and a somewhat depleted Richmond VFL into a mess of fumbling unforced errors, spilt marks and wasted opportunities for both sides but they did set up a significant win for the home team which is exactly what transpired on this Anzac Day round opener. Casey opened up strong against the breeze with the first goal to Aidan Johnson, the Tigers quickly responded and the game degenerated into a defensive slog and the teams were level when the first siren sounded.
