British Hotel, Finniss St, North Adelaide, good public bar and nice restaurant at the back. Upmarket. Good staff and pleasant patrons. Not the sort of place for a fight. Not the sort of place for Port Fans more the Crows type. You will be safe!  More likely to have a philosophical discussion with a retired academic from Adelaide Uni or pick up a middle aged lady from Unley.

Something you have done in the past Hemmy? Pick up middle aged women from Unley??

That sounds truly horrible.

Just on Adelaide, for anyone on Instagram that isn't giving @shitadelaide a follow I highly recommend it.

Some comedy gold generated from those guys.

:roos: thanks for the heads up

Is there a good bar / restaurant fellow Demon supporters should  go to for dinner before/after  the game next Friday night in Adelaide? Its our first interstate game in Adelaide. Any advice appreciated. Go Dees.

The Wheatsheaf Hotel in Thebarton is well worth a visit for the spectacular range of beers if that's your thing. It's in the free tram zone too, which would get you back to the Casino/Train Station in 10 min or so to walk the rest of the way.

I like the inference there - the second part sounds delightful?

Lets just say, I know Adelaide quiet well, and can testify to the fact that it has a very different culture which is reflected in the tastes and appetites of the locals.

It has a little bit of the Upper Classes of Old England if you know what I mean.

The advantage is that once they know your an outsider, there is no interest in on-going social intercourse.  By the way, an outsider is anyone that does not go back at least 5 generations.

I can see Ethan that you are an act first, talk later sort of guy.  Kalgoorlie is no doubt your kind of town.

If you get the chance to go for a long lunch, go to Hahndorf up in the Adelaide Hills, plenty of nice wine and delicious food up there.

I’ve never been there but I’ve been told that before, perhaps in my younger days. My sort of town now is Donostia.

I reckon you'd be a Roebourne or Halls Creek kind of guy ET ?

I worked in Halls Creek. A 12 gauge was standard issue.

Luckily it was only a year, that place is nuts.
