Big Max on The Footy Show

I'd like to see Gawn concentrate on backing up last season rather than playing a character on a crumby expired tv show.

Maybe, but we need marketable players to intice sponsors and the like. I didn't watch tFS, don't have any desire to, but we need to get Melbourne faces out there so we can get some more cash rolling in.

Having said all that I predicted when I heard Hutchy was going to take the reigns that this could be it's last year in the current format. I despise Hutchy and his smug face, and he's not a funny larikan so can't keep up with any of the others. Sam will run rings around him which will just make things worse.

If I were the ones in charge of programming I would start right now with designing a new format, scouting new hosts, new segments, and start doing market research on its viewers to determine what can stay and what can go. I actually don't mind Maddern, her only issue is she tries a bit too hard at times, I felt that Brayshaw stepping down might've been a chance to push Nathan Brown.

I actually watched it and with him on the show, interviews with Hogan, we had heaps of coverage for us which we need. We've been so largely irrelevant and mundane for so long, good to have a big personality like Gawn playing good footy and well loved by the general public.

Max is a great personality and good for the club, but he (or the club) needs to pull back now. Sometimes less is more.

I agree "Poita".  I watched Gawn and Newmans in car conversation while trying to eat !  Big mistake.

Haven't watched the show is years but the same as SEN and Wild World of Sports etc is some intelligent, but differing/dissenting voices. Actually have some challenging debate, not everyone wallowing around in the same trough.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
