Good one. Yes please post.

3rd tip is in (forget the golf,  Ogilvy missed the cut!)

Here are the 3 ...

  • Cronulla (1-12) over the Parramatta Eels  $2.75
  • Waratahs (1-12) over the Auckland Blues  $3.10
  • Melb Storm (1-12) over the Dragons $3.00

It's the only sports bet I'm doing this week Wadda apart from maybe a Sunday only pick 3 or pick 4 involving the NBA & the NHL (and the Melb Storm)

I rarely get close with sports multi's thus the switch to the joint effort.

Ok got it. looks good Macca, ill be getting on.

So for my pick, after doing the form i came up with Silent Warrior....followed by Savapinski....I was going to go for Pleasuring plc at Morphettville, but there are many good horses in that race. So im going for Flemington Race 7 No 8 Land of Plenty $2.20. Its pretty short but should get up.

Morphettville  Race 2  No.8  Silent Warrior $2.40 (in from $4.00)

Morphetville R8 No1 Savapinski. $3.30

Flemington Race 7 No 8 Land of Plenty $2.20.

Gives us $17.42 for your dollar. Get on!!

WE ARE SO DUE!!

Haven't done form for today (as i have said my Autumn has finished) so no best bets but my thoughts on today's group races based on recollection of the exposed form of the horses through Autumn.

You have to give Qualista a good chance today. Like Savacool, a horse that always runs well. Gets out in front and challenges other horses to catch it and i've said before on this thread i really like good horses that sit on the speed.

Similarly Sprightly Lass is terrific race horse that does not know how to run a bad race. Looks good value i reckon. Desert Lashes will surely test it though. A good horse.

I backed Savapinski last start and it looks to deserve favoritism. But perhaps a little short? I backed Jester Halo and odds last start and it blundered the start, which is always poor but worse when it is a horse that likes to sit on the speed. Came home against the pattern for a fighting 4th and if it gets away allright today has to be chance. Has 3.5kg pull in the weights from Savapinski and due a win.

Coming Through is really good horse and deserves favoritism in the Hollindale i would have thought but i would not be shocked if Oregon Day runs a bold race. Has been there or thereabouts this Autumn in four group races without winning (three very close seconds and last start 2.9 length 4th to Alizee). At each way odds.

Still great input there anyways Binman, cheers.....see you in the spring! :)

Lucky I got on last night with those 3 with Silent Warrior shortening the way it has ?

Not that I thought you'd pick Land of Plenty ... I just liked the horses chances anyway.  Good choice Wadda.

The Robert Sangster Stakes is a good betting race and now that Viddora is out,  any number of horses can get into the finish.

I hear ya Macca.....i went back to it, after looking at everything else.....its a good pick i think...... I have a good feeling about today so i didnt want to go too radical. We are so DUE!!

Im also in the Viridine camp to beat Nature Strip on the softer track. The odds are good.

JJ's tips are up on Racing.com ... I might do a few 2-5-5 trifectas based on his tips (I'll add 1 extra horse to his first 4)

Corey was still lying on the track at the 300m mark when they were in the back straight ... scary moment and hopefully he's ok.

God how often do you see the stable mate get up in a race. Did Jamie go a little early? Probably not, but it did seem like it. Hindsight easy i guess....

I always take all our picks for a place as well anyway.....so still alive.

JJ changed his best bet of the day to Savapinski in the last ... he's done that before but was probably looking for a bit of value after the scratchings in race 2.

Silent Warrior well beaten though - another 2nd but the 1.60 for the place was a reasonable return considering there were only 7 runners.

At least Essendon are getting thumped...

Well we had the winner.....good runs by Think Bleue and Pleasuring just missed a place.

Anyone know why Shoals is 11.00 and 3.40 the place......it won its last race and appeared to be back. 9.6.2.0....doesnt run many bad races....distance is ok...

Looks like Shoals could be set for Royal Ascot now.

A dominant win against some very likely types.  The 3rd placegetter would have put me out of the trifecta anyway.  Tri paid a lazy 9k+ so there are a few happy campers.

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
