Well....i threw McCreery in for 3rd as an after thought because i was talking about it yesterday....

Nice dividend too Wadda - well done!

It was a tricky race but we nearly got it ... 1st,  2nd & 4th is always the worst possible outcome.  Mister Sea Wolf was never in it whilst we probably all looked at McCreery.   Well you did anyway ?

I only had a % but ill take it. Its a bit of a tough day. I like leather & lace in this next race at Caulfield. Will go pretty close i think.

Leather & Lace got up for 3rd ... the winner too good (one of the 'other' Weir horses)

I've had a couple of ok collects today but my main aim was always Sha Tin tomorrow.  Quietly confident of getting a few reasonable returns if things fall my way.

I'm not sure I want to mozz them Wadda but I'll post up my 3 possible winners in each of the 3 Group 1 races - they are all quite obvious but I always hope for my 3rd fancied runner to win (highlighted)

I'll add a couple of placegetters and box the 3 first choice runners in each race in a separate bet ...to stave off punters lament.

  • Race 6 - Beauty Generation,  Season's Bloom,  Singapore Sling
  • Race 7 - Mr Stunning,  Beat the Clock,  Ivictory
  • Race 8 - Ping Hai Star,  Time Warp,  Al Ain

Not a bad run Wadda, spoke to my mate prior to the race and he basically said they will decide soon on his future. These “ not bad” runs are becoming all too familiar lately and probably best to come to a decision soon.

Anyway, we carry on and look forward to Sha Tin tomorrow.

He did run quite a good race i thought, beat my runner home. Theres just not much in the tank at the end. Send him down to Tassie....(thats actually what they did with my horse toward the end of his career).

James Jordan just got a $10 winner on the last at Morphettville with his value bet for the day and got the quinella with his first 2 picks.

Were you on Wadda? I knew I shouldn’t have started a game of scrabble with the kids.

Here are the early odds for the 2 Group 1's next Saturday at Morphettville ... a much better choice for our trifecta type race in my opinion.  The fields will no doubt be reduced although 20 horses did run in the G1 Sprint last year whilst only 14 ran in the 2017 G1 Australasian Oaks ...

Demons get a win! ... albeit against average opposition.  Still,  there are a stack of average sides in the league.  And the good teams aren't that good.

Anyway,  what was that line out of 'Hotel California'?

"You can check out anytime you like,  but you can never leave!"

Next Weekend's Group 1's (Overseas)

USA Kentucky Derby 2000m 3yo SW (Sunday Morning)

USA Woodford Reserve Turf Classic  1800m WFA(Sunday Morning)

UK Newmarket 2000 Guineas 1600m 3yo SW(Sunday Morning)

UK Newmarket 1000 Guineas 1600m 3yo Fillies SW (Monday Morning)

Well I got my days total outlay back on the 4th race Trifecta ... % only but I'm now playing with house money with bets already laid.  I should just bet at Sha Tin and have the odd flutter in the local races here in Australia (Group 1's) Not every week but there's usually 2 or 3 good trifecta races on up there most weeks.

Beauty Generation won with real class in the just completed G1 Mile ... just missed on the trifecta but 2 races to go Wadda.  The Sprint race is up next.  Lets see how good this Ivictory is up against Mr Stunning & Beat the Clock.  It would want to be good to beat those 2.

No Wadda,  but that doesn't surprise.  The small fields and the truly run races lends itself to the obviously good horses getting into the finish.  But if 1 or 2 of the 3 top fancies don't figure in the finish there are some good dividends to be had.

Trifectas at Sha Tin in the Group races have an 'each-way' feel about them ... I don't miss very often but the dividends can also often be 'money-back' or thereabouts.  I see it as more of a percentage play hoping that my 4th & 5th picks can get into the finish (in a 3-5-5 trifecta) I also box the first 3 picks as that combo does salute on more than the odd occasion.  2-4-4 is another option that can reward.

Ok i see......yes. Looks like John Size rules the show here......always wondered where he got to.

Im going Ping Hai Star one out to win, and mixed up a few others for the placings, and also a 4 box with your selections plus Pakistan Star.
