New Best

Flemington Race 7 #6 - Master of Wine $7.50 W/$2.70 P

Master of wine is my pick for that race too. The odds for it and surprise baby and even the fav are quite high. Might look for another and try for a trifecta maybe even f4

Same as Gorg's Best JV

Got your's in an exacta and a place multi

Good luck to all that are having a punt tomorrow.  Nearly all the races at Flemington are good betting races whilst up at Randwick,  there are some real standouts that appeal

I’ve got Portland sky into Legionarre at the min (each way multi) was waiting for some of the others to put a BB up before adding others

Flemington Race 8 No.5

Madam Rouge Win/Place (Multi)  $6.50/$2.15

Into $5 and second fav.

Didnt back it yesterday like I was going to, completely forgot to.

Ill be interested to see how Fabric runs in that race. $13 seems overs for it unless I’m missing something?

Dollar for Dollar ran another great race

Thought you might have been on it ... I was on it in an exacta.

Kolding Wins!

Followed this horse for quite some time now ... great acceleration when it counts and continues to run great times on good to firm surfaces

Double your winnings converts to 8-1 with the early odds.  Gotta love that!

Macca I had dollar for dollar, zout and Tof in a trifecta, Tofane killed me.

Ive got master in the epsom, and a multi in 8&9th but I’ve not even managed a place today.
I will watch those two and leave the rest. Not my day.

If Nature Strip doesn't win this I'll [censored] all over my own.

Verrry Elleegant wins, Master of wine ran like it was on the grape juice

And a number of the pundits picked against Verry Elleegant because of the good going

Proved them wrong

The one that caught people out in the exotics was Toffee Tongue.  Hindsight tells us that it was way over the odds and very nearly won the race.

Favourite wins but the exacta paid 347!

Yeah,  we've all had those days Gorg.

Gator tipped me into the winner in the last - Khoekhoe.   Got 11-1 midweek

Ended up just over even for the day but I'll take that.  Today I went close on a number of exacta's but you win some,  you lose some

Completely right, if tofane runs 3rd I have a trifecta and all is well, if Libba gets over his possessions I’m going great. Looks like Pendelbury and Adams will cost me from this game but as you have said, the good ol punters lament.

Last few weeks have been lean for me but hopefully I’ll bounce back soon.

Some Group 1 replays from the weekend ... leading off with the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe & the Preakness Stakes,  then the big events held here in Oz

Best Bet Saturday

Caulfield Race 5 No.8 Dirty Work

Win/Place 5.50/1.80

Should get into the finish so the 1.80 the place fits nicely into a multi

But if the horse runs to its best,  it's definitely a winning chance

Going far & wide for my best best Saturday.

Doomben Race 8 #8 - Red Chase $4.80 W/$1.95 P

Drawn a nice barrier too

I am a bit of a times man JV and Red Chase has been running some slick times carrying more weight at Eagle Farm & Doomben

1.95 the place also appeals as a multi inclusion ... doubles any dividend

Laddies are returning $6 for the win as well (with a boost) ?

I was on it a few times last prep when it won 4 on the trot... Backed him first up 2 weeks ago & powered home to run 2nd. Definitely like the $6 on offer!

Best bet

Caulfield Race 9, No.4  I Am Superman $9/3

The place multi is paying 8-1 whilst if all 3 win you can get 175-1 ... Red Chase is the closing leg for those looking at the 'Early' double

Should be a great days racing with 4 x Group 1's at Caulfield where the track might end up getting to a Good4 status (unless we get more rain)

Some very good racing up at Randwick as well with 5 Stakes races to be run

Good luck to all having a flutter tomorrow

  • PREVIEW: Sydney

The two teams competing at the MCG on Sunday afternoon have each traversed a long and arduous path since their previous encounter on a sweltering March evening in Sydney a season and a half ago. Both experienced periods of success at various times last year. The Demons ran out of steam in midseason while the Swans went on to narrowly miss the ultimate prize in the sport. Now, they find themselves outside of finals contention as the season approaches the halfway mark. The winner this week will remain in contact with the leading pack, while the loser may well find itself on a precipice, staring into the abyss. The current season has presented numerous challenges for most clubs, particularly those positioned in the middle tier. The Essendon experience in suffering a significant 91-point loss to the Bulldogs, just one week after defeating the Swans, may not be typical, but it illustrates the unpredictability of outcomes under the league’s present set up.

  • REPORT: Brisbane

“Max Gawn has been the heart and soul of the Dees for years now, but this recent recovery from a terrible start has been driven by him. He was everywhere again, and with the game in the balance, he took several key marks to keep the ball in the Dees forward half.” - The Monday Knee Jerk Reaction: Round Ten Of course, it wasn’t the efforts of one man that caused this monumental upset, but rather the work of the coach and his assistants and the other 22 players who took the ground, notably the likes of Jake Melksham, Christian Petracca, Clayton Oliver and Kozzie Pickett but Max has been magnificent in taking ownership of his team and its welfare under the fire of a calamitous 0-5 start to the season. On Sunday, he provided the leadership that was needed to face up to the reigning premier and top of the ladder Brisbane Lions on their home turf and to prevail after a slow start, during which the hosts led by as much as 24 points in the second quarter. Titus O’Reily is normally comedic in his descriptions of the football but this time, he was being deadly serious. The Demons have come from a long way back and, although they still sit in the bottom third of the AFL pack, there’s a light at the end of the tunnel as they look to drive home the momentum inspired in the past four or five weeks by Max the Magnificent who was under such great pressure in those dark, early days of the season.

  • CASEY: Southport

The Southport Sharks came to Casey. They saw and they conquered a team with 16 AFL-listed players who, for the most part, wasted their time on the ground and failed to earn their keep. For the first half, the Sharks were kept in the game by the Demons’ poor use of the football, it’s disposal getting worse the closer the team got to its own goal and moreover, it got worse as the game progressed. Make no mistake, Casey was far and away the better team in the first half, it was winning the ruck duels through Tom Campbell’s solid performance but it was the scoreboard that told the story.

  • PREGAME: Sydney

Just a game and percentage outside the Top 8, the Demons return to Melbourne to face the Sydney Swans at the MCG, with a golden opportunity to build on the momentum from toppling the reigning premiers on their own turf. Who comes in, and who makes way?
