Viney nominated for Mark Of The Year

Featured Replies

One of the few positives from yesterday's game.  See it here https://markoftheyear.afl.com.au/vote/round/17

Courage personified!  Just threw himself into the pack!

If you would like to vote for him http://www.melbournefc.com.au/news/2016-07-18/viney-nominated-for-mark-of-the-year

Well done, champ.

He has got one of the AFLs most courageous players in the modern era. I just love him and how he goes about it.

I just voted. It takes about 14 seconds. I reckon we should all vote and get Jack the nomination. He dragged us back into the game through sheer willpower yesterday. A lot of us on here have rightly vented our frustration that yesterday the players went missing when the going got tough. Would surely be a bit hypocritical if we, the fans, did the same thing ;).

He or Gawn are going to be really stiff not to win the B and F.  I hope they have a tie.

Almost forgot Mark of the Year exsisted. Seemed like the only thing Howe was good for back in his day. Anyway, Viney's mark was terrific. Perfect balance between courage and skill.

Don't forget Jooce!

Seems our MOTY nominations are from marks taken in our most crappiest performances. They are now a  big yawn for me.

I suspect that Bruce Mc will post a hundred votes for "Thiwwwillllll".

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

One of the big stories of the AFL off-season was the spending spree of Melbourne’s Round 1 opponent, St Kilda. They splashed out heavily, first to retain Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera - the hero of last year’s epic come-from-behind miracle victory -turning him into a $2 million man. They then effectively took out an expensive overdraft to recruit a string of expensive players from other clubs. It was a risky investment strategy and, although it’s still early days, it certainly failed to pay off in Sunday’s season opener, with much of the glitter turning to fool’s gold.
