Thanks WJ great reading, top effort here, well done Vic Metro. Also great to see some of those famous names coming back, something for us all to look forward to!!!

After watching the last 2 rounds of the under 18s and ranking players, I think MFC would have slim pickings for their 2nd round choice.  With GWS having 4-5 academy players likely to be bid and claimed by GWS, MFC likely 2nd round pick gets shuffled down to around pick 30-34 depending on our final position.

Having looked through the likely draftees, possible selections would be:

ruck - Tim English

mid- Dylan Clarke

key back - Sam McLarty

Five talking points: The Under 18 championships

A little snippet from the National Under 16s championships. Jimmy Stynes' nephew - Sam Stynes - is representing Vic Metro. Sam is the son of Brian Stynes but unfortunately not a father/son chance (Brian was about 99 games short).

Very good GAA player and part of the Dublin 1995 ALL-IRELAND winning side

  • PREVIEW: Essendon

Not long ago, the narrative surrounding Melbourne was steeped in pessimism. There was some concern among the pundits (and even some fans) that the club would arrive at the AFL’s Gather Round still winless, vulnerable to a familiar adversary in the Essendon Football Club, and facing significant scrutiny from an ever-critical media on a national stage. Things have changed.

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

Steven King astutely identified the issues that had plagued the Melbourne Football Club over the past two and a half seasons when he auditioned for the newly created coaching role. The side that had claimed the 2021 premiership had become stodgy, slow-paced, and hesitant to take the initiative.
