Hilarious ....and yet so scarily true !!

ย

They already have a rule tinkering unit. It's called the umpires.

Womanโ€™s disinterest in tennis shaken :)

I would be an expert for the Rules tinkering committee. I know little about the game, i could care less about the spirit of the game. I get annoyed when teams which should be being beaten suddenly find themselves leading because umpires arbitrarily, fairly apply existing rules to what they see happening on the field. I know it's rare but it does happen. In such a case, the rules can be tweaked in play to get the right result.

This could be the watershed moment for Gil's administration. (and we thought that would be cheaper chips)

Did you mean "levity"?

at first but I thought we could all do with rising above the mundane of preseason ย !!

I think this unit has been operating for a while now, for exampleย I have seen the holding the ballย rule changeย several timesย within oneย game on numerous occasions. And I have evenย seen the rule change for one side versus the other side. Theyย can beย very innovative at times, not sure how the poorย umpires keep up with the instructions though?

The Titus 'n' Paradise podcasts are great.ย Sergio Paradise and Titus O'Reily are two Melbourne tragics. Well worth the listen.ย

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

One of the big stories of the AFL off-season was the spending spree of Melbourneโ€™s Round 1 opponent, St Kilda. They splashed out heavily, first to retain Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera - the hero of last yearโ€™s epic come-from-behind miracle victory -turning him into a $2 million man. They then effectively took out an expensive overdraft to recruit a string of expensive players from other clubs. It was a risky investment strategy and, although itโ€™s still early days, it certainly failed to pay off in Sundayโ€™s season opener, with much of the glitter turning to foolโ€™s gold.
