Does Brayshaw play round 1?

would that be the Roos that doesn't watch Casey

You are just brilliant C&B. You've been totally and utterly proven wrong by his selection, yet you won't back down. You haven't been hanging out with Saty have you mate?

And I'm sure I don't need to point out that not only do other coaches watch the game but he will also watch vision of those games during the week as well. But nice try.

Brayshaw is ready, and you're wrong.

Nah, it's the Roos that has a whole team of coaches, a bunch of whom watch everything Casey and are in charge of development, and the Roos that has a whole selection committee working with him....

I said I would stand by whatever decision is made.

It's a day early to be saying whether it's right or wrong.

Odds are still in favour of Brayshaw doing nil and us losing comfortably.

At least this year with McCartney, Goodwin and Plapp on board Roos doesn't have to watch!

Anyway Howe got the all clear to be in the back 6 and they clearly decided on Vince not playing. So after that it was a matter of picking the best of the rest to fill the depth midfield and half forward spots. Brayshaw didn't have to be clearly ready or have amazing form to edge out Matt Jones and Bail, particularly if he's just set to be the sub.

And what exactly are your odds based on? His draft order? His talent? His 2 BOGs for Casey? The fact a premiership coach (Roos) and a known expert development coach (McCartney) have selected him to play? There's a difference between odds and opinions.

and at 1:15, you'll be up there muttering to anyone who'll listen, "just another loser..."

that post doesn't make any sense

no i'll be saying 'that's all you can expect from a zero-gamer'

No, it's not.

In previous years I might have agreed with you, but we have a full list to choose from and he has been selected with guys like M. Jones, Bail, McKenzie, Michie, Grimes etc playing in the VFL. They would have been selected previously, but clearly Brayshaw has impressed and shown that he is ready to play AFL footy. There was no need to select him otherwise.

But you stick with that negativity mate, it suits you.

Of course it doesn't to someone who thinks odds are based upon their own opinion.

so you're declaring now that Brayshaw WILL play better than Grimes would have hypothetically played, and therefore his selection increases our chances of winning the match?

FFS what are you even talking about

we are favourites to lose the match

it is more than likely any debutant is not going to have much impact

what part am I making up

The FD seem to think so, so I'll go with their belief over yours.

The only reason you are so upset with his selection is that you have been totally and utterly proven wrong. You waffled on about how he wasn't ready, wouldn't be selected, that his games (which you didn't see) were overrated at Casey...

And then Roos selected him to play over others. Must have hurt.

I asked what you think

Did you just blindly back everything Mark Neeld did too

would that be the Roos that doesn't watch Casey

Wow.....

Maybe PJ should have appointed you the head coach.

I'm not talking about the match. I quoted you saying Brayshaw wil have "nil impact". Clearly that's opinion, not odds.

would that be the Roos that doesn't watch Casey

Would that be the same C&B that doesn't watch Casey?

I asked what you think

Did you just blindly back everything Mark Neeld did too

No, I didn't.

I explained my reasoning in the previous post. Things were different in the Neeld era, where depth was deplorable, as opposed to now. I like the selection of Brayshaw, which he has earned by the way, and think he will bring something positive to the side going forward. We have the depth now where players aren't just gifted games, so clearly the FD believe Brayshaw is ready to play a role ahead of others who could have been selected.

No C&B is like me, I will back Roos, but personally don't think Brayshaw is ready, hopefully he will get a run as sub, I just hope he doesn't produce a couple of howlers which will leave him open for the Watts/Toumpas treatment on here

I wouldn't have picked Kent either on what I have seen in the last couple of weeks at training and in games, I don't think his form is that good, hopefully he will prove me wrong

No, I didn't.

Hmmm keep dodging - will Brayshaw have more of an impact than Grimes would have, simple question

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.
