The knock on him at the Swans was that he plays like a KPF but is too short and as a half forward didn't have the tank to be able to run deep into the backline and back as you do nowadays. He said this year it pretty much took until the end of last season for the penny to drop how hard he had to work on building his tank. I have a feeling he must have been given the hard word after his first year at the Saints that if he didnt work harder on improving his tank his career was about to be over. He did that over the summer and is now the player he could have been at the Swans if he had worked hard enough in the beginning.

Still has terrible tatts.

I'm just glad Jack Fitzpatrick didn't go to Hawthorn and miraculously make us look really silly for letting him go.

ST Kilda deserve all the luck they can get. a lucky bounce 50 years ago won them their first flag. an unlucky bounce a few years ago cruelly denied them their second. this time they strike it lucky. a win for the little guy.

Reminds me of the conversation Cam Pedersen apparently had with Todd Viney after the first year of his three year contract, where the intimation was that his contract wouldn't save him if his second year looked like his first.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
