My 2 mates and I are keen to play!

hey, mad...

glad to hear you are alive and well...

as a site member and veteran of these games, you get picked ahead of other guy's mates...

but your mates may have to warm the bench for a bit, depending on the numbers that turn up...

let me know what position you play these days, give me the same info for your mates, and I will pass it on to the coach...

I remember the game we made you ruck. We owe you...

I will point out this individual to you guys before the first bounce...

perhaps we should unchain wise ??

(no, that would be too cruel)...

TO ALL PLAYERS, COACHES AND HELPERS

Remember we are playing this coming Sunday, October 5 at 11:00 am at Gosch’s paddock.

Goal post issues mean that we may have to move to Olympic Park.

11.00 am means 10.00 am for those of you who have not heard about daylight saving time.

Melway map reference 2G E10.

Train to Richmond station, walk south down Punt Road (city side). If you come to Boulton Parade, you have gone too far.

CAR. Free parking may be available at Punt Road Oval. If not, you can try the Richmond side streets south of Swan Street, but I prefer the commercial car parks in Swan Street. There is one east of the intersection with Punt Road and one west of that intersection.

WEATHER. Extended forecast says 28 degrees, warm and sunny, humidity 42%.

People, its Melbourne so bring WATER and SUNSCREEN!!!

Helpers, we have never had enough additional water, so please do not slack off on your commitments.

Everyone, please bring additional jumpers (if you have them) for players without.

Scotty from Bomberblitz says they are going to beat us this time. Post from scooter 23 on bomberblitz on 1/10/14:

“Let's beat these Melbourne dogs..... I'm running in off the square and taking someone out at the first bounce..... Invoke some fear into the rest of them.... They'll be too scared to put their heads over the ball for the rest of the game.”

See you Sunday at 10.30 am (9.30 am for people clueless about daylight saving time). People arriving at or before then go into the draw to have first go at scooter23.

Players and helpers who have not committed, or who are late apologies, please update your status by posting on the thread on Demonland, by sending ucanchoose a pm, or by sending him an email at ([email protected])or by texting him on 0449 821 556.

Regards,

Peter Connor (aka Rollo)

I bow out from my playing days with a three goal effort in the last win, that's enough for me

I'm off overseas next week for my brother's wedding so there might not be much action

You can email me: [email protected] or message 0449 821 556 to register your interest or stick your name on here.

If that is the case with helpers, if we have an extended bench, would a "high vis" shirt be helpful for benched players to occasionally run water or messages for 10mins throughout quarters while waiting for their shot at glory?

Love these games. Premierships and club B&Fs come and go, but these backyard no holes barred games are what we live for. Don't let the dream die.

No dramas, I've put on a lot of beef since i last played, so probably best use my big frame at full forward, if someone else is there that's fine, and if youre lacking height ill have stints in the ruck thats no dramas. My mate Scotty who played with me last time usually plays up forward or back, and Nathan can play anywhere, very good player usually plays ruck and around the forward line.

Hi Dees,

The bomberblitz team extends its deepest condolences on the loss of a true legend of not only your club but the game itself.

With your approval I would like both teams to wear black arm bands on Sunday as a mark of respect for Robbie Flower.

Your thoughts?

Cheers,

Scotty

Easier to ask those who are going to be sober to let you know...

On a serious note, I have just got to stop working such long hours. Imagine finding out about Robbie's tragic death on a form footy post...

I will bring the black armbands...

Great idea, Steve...

I will bring plain white tops. I have about half a dozen, which I acquired back in the day when we thought we would have lots of site members showing up to support the team (and would be able to have boundary umpys).

We are lucky to get a blindman and his dog these days. ^_^

Word from Scotty is that it's up in the air whether we play at Gosch's Paddock or Olympic Park

The plan is to go to Gosch's Paddock then relocate if we have to.

Don't forget to bring sun screen.......

We have an umpire from the Riddell District League. He has strict instructions to eject anybody for less than complementary behaviour.

Lets make this game something that Robbie would be proud of!

Leeroy is far too good of a player to be tagging in all honesty.... There's pretty much no match up for Leeroy with his athleticism

I've seen him play reserves footy in the past..... Absolute joke..... As you're well aware he's a high quality player

2024 Player Reviews: #36 Kysaiah Pickett

The Demons’ aggressive small forward who kicks goals and defends the Demons’ ball in the forward arc. When he’s on song, he’s unstoppable but he did blot his copybook with a three week suspension in the final round. A couple of Demonland Trackwatchers braved the rain and headed down to Gosch's paddock to bring you their observations from the second day of Preseason training for the 1st to 4th Year players. DITCHA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I attended some of the training today. Richo spoke to me and said not to believe what is in the media, as we will good this year. Jefferson and Kentfield looked big and strong.  Petty was doing all the training. Adams looked like he was in rehab.  KE
